I've done it again.

I gave gone back gambling today and done alot of financial damage. But worse, I have betrayed the trust put in me by my 81yr old mother who I have to face now and tell what I've done.

She relies on me to pay half the rent of our new apartment and I've nothing to give her. Also the rest of my family are going to be told. They may completely disown me this time.

Please pray for me and my mum. We're going to need it...:( :( :(

Aw, Pete. :( I'm so sorry. You are most definitely in my prayers. I think it's pretty big of you to own your flaws and failings. I know that you feel awful right now, but just remember that you can make this better. Remember that you can always reach out to us if you feel like you are weakening or wavering. We will help hold you up. Peace be with you, my friend. You are ever in my prayers.

Lord, remember Thy son's troubles, and visit them. Forgive his transgressions, and set him in the way, that he may grow closer unto Thee. If it be Thy will, withhold harsh consequences, for Thou art merciful, now and ever and unto ages of ages, Amen.

For the healing of Thy servant's financial ruin. Lord have mercy!

For the relationship between Thy servant and his loving mother. Lord have mercy!

We ask that Thou bestow strength of will and heart upon Thy weakened servant, that he may not fall into this sin again. Lord have mercy!

Most Holy Theotokos, who art the mother of all believers, intercede on behalf of thy son. As thy love for our Lord Jesus Christ was eternal as a mother, may you pray that the love between thy child on the earth (S.ilvio) and his mother is fortified by the power of the Holy Spirit.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Gambling can be fun; that rush you get whenever things start going your way. I'm not going to lie, I'm a fellow gambler myself (Either head on down to Atlantic City, play scratch cards, the lotto, or head down to a Native American casino).

However, much like with eating, drinking, or anything that can become a vice, moderation is key, and if we can't keep it in check, better to avoid it all together.

It happens. We lapse. We're human. Honestly, if your family has put some kind of stigma on you before due to your gambling, maybe don't come clean; tell one little white lie. Especially for your old mother who I think would benefit from not knowing.

I just hope you didn't dig to deep a hole, but even if you did, just use it to learn from. I'll keep you in my thoughts when I say the rosary.

Oh no my brother, this ain't going good. I pray that you should be strong once again and that you will go back to the time before you were gambling. Instead, work for the money for the future. *Prays to the Lord God Almighty for this case*. Kyrie Eleison!

Gambling is only one of MANY forms of addiction. Remember that you're human, this sin is NOT the only thing about you. So often times we have an addiction be it alcohol, inappropriate contentography, gambling, smoking, and we beat ourselves up about it SO HARD that we come to let the addiction define us. I'm a gambler, I'm a drinker, I'm a inappropriate content addict, whatever. There's more to you than this addiction, brother. Satan wants you to make this the epicenter of your life. Don't listen to him. You did sin. But pick up yourself, dust yourself off, and move on. Go to confession, seek the Lord's aid, and look into strategies for beating gambling. I'd read alot about it online first. Pray hard. But don't let this define you.

Be honest with your grandma and just open up. It'll hurt but she'll respect you for being a man instead of an excuse-maker or a liar. You're a good man and God loves you.

prayers your way and hang in there!!:)

I'm very sorry to hear what's happened. I know the pull Gambling has and the strong addiction it causes. It is horrific, quite frankly. You'll have to go cold-Turkey. But, you've done it before and you can do this again with the strength the Lord has given you.

I think the first important thing to do is to ask for the Lord's forgiveness. He has already forgiven you; Jesus died for your sins on the Cross and rose again. But, by asking for forgiveness, you're telling God that you're sorry for your sin(s) and that you are ready and willing to do His will.

I can tell that you have a strong faith in the Lord and know Him. I suggest that you pray to bind that addiction in his Name and cast it out of your life.

Go to Church and receive healing prayer. It'll help a great deal. There are usually Addiction programmes that run at Churches. Why not give that a try?

But, above all, in the mean time, remember that you are a Human being and that we all slip up at times in our lives. You are forgiven and Jesus loves you and your sins.

I pray that the Lord lifts up this Gambling addiction and casts it out of your life. Father, let our Brother be rescued from the bondage of Gambling. May he start again with his life with you having even more of a presence in it. Father, our Brother knows and loves you dearly. Bless him, Father. And keep him safe. Amen.

Good luck with everything. God Bless!

But I'm here. I need this place...

Thank you everyone. I'm just about able to face you all again.

Again, we all fall and stumble at some point. Nothing to be embarrassed about. Admitting that you took a slight wrong turn is always better than letting it fester inside of you or pretending it didn't happen.
