• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Prayer request (and also an odd question)

I had to ban a member of my online Bible study recently. The person is a hypercalvinist. There's one more person in the server who is consistently attacking me, calling me a coward, saying I'm not acting like a pastor, and issuing half hearted apologies as a result of the ban. For the past 2 years I feel as if I was slowly being indoctrinated into hypercalvinism by these 2 people. This has led me to this question: is calvinism biblical? Please pray for me and any guidance would be appreciated because this entire situation has exhausted me mentally.

Praying.. its Calvinism ...oh so many ISM's out there. Not all of it. Its always best if we search find out.. so do they believe Jesus came in the flesh died on the cross for the worlds sin was buried rose the 3rd day is the only way to the Father?. We all believe something kind of doctrine that does not go alone with match what ever with someone else BUT its where we all agree Jesus Christ is lord came in the flesh the way the truth and the life that's what matters. For me anytime anyway God speaks He always backs up what He says with His word

I pray that God would give you wisdom to know what to think about Calvinism. I also pray that God would help you to forgive these people who were saying such hurtful things about you, even if you don't let them back into your Bible study.

Here is a link to resources that I created that present the case for free will, and God's desire to save all who are willing.

You will see there is not only biblical evidence for free will but that the early church in the first 150 years actually taught free will.

It sure seems like you should find some other group, one that isn’t filled with strife and insults.

The Bible says that you need that no man should teach you, but the Holy Spirit will teach you. It also says that we should not abandon fellowship.

So the Holy Spirit is to be the ultimate teacher, but we can study Bible topics with others, of course.

There are no denominations in the Bible. I pray you will find good fellowship and also that you will keep turning to the Holy Spirit to guide you into deeper and deeper truths in Scriptures.
