Been using Apple all of my life; dad is an architect and my mom is a graphic designer so I grew up around them.

Right now I have a 12" PowerBook, 1.5 ghz with a SuperDrive. Probably be getting a 20" Intel iMac in the next 6 mos.

For 2 1/2 years have been using an iBook G4.

I use to known as the computer killer in my family on windows based computers, so I made the switch and this one is still going strong.

Guess there are not too many of us on here?

The class I'm taking puts me in front of one of the new dual Xeon Mac Pros. It's fast, and the application I'm running (Maya) is being run in Rosetta.

I hate the Mighty Mouse though. It was a noble idea, but horrible in execution. It is second place only to those "puck mice" on my black list of input devices. This is of course, not counting any pointing device from the early 90s that no longer works.

Got a MacBook, and my wife has my old PowerBook G4.
Love 'em both. Especially my MacBook. Only thing I miss is a graphics card of significance as I do love NeverWinter Nights 2, and would like to be able to play it on my Windows installation on my MacBook... Oh well. Since that is not a possibility I use Paralells and Windows as most of my work needs Windows applications and Crossover works.... Poorly for a lot of them.

I just won a bid for a Mac Book Pro 15", only a few weeks old on Ebay. I am kinda excited about getting it; I am sure all of you know that feeling. Anyhow, any tips for new Mac Users? I am a Computer Science major, have been into WinPC for a long time. Usually build my own (except laptop), so figured I would try out a macbook pro. My current laptop isn't that old, but its a bulky 17" that weighs about 10 lbs (Toshiba).
Ok, that's all for now.

Spend some time in the Control Panel (I forget what it's called on a Mac!) and most of what you will tinker with in there. Lots of fun! If you do any programming, which I don't, you can do lots of cool stuff from the Unix prompt.
