Mussels in White Wine
Recipe

We usually have this for New Years Eve. But I wanted something simple. The mussels were cooked in Pinot Grigio with garlic, shallots, lemon thyme, parsley, saffron, and fire roasted tomatoes. I sauté the garlic and shallots in Kerrygold butter and extra virgin olive oil. I use grey salt and tellicherry black pepper. The dish is done in ten minutes. We have baguette slices on the side for dipping.

So I'm out getting some fresh air and my workout on and I'm having a cup of coffee, leaning on a pole.

And, all of a sudden it starts shaking and I'm like whoa, are we having another one of those Cali. quakes! So I look around and no one's there and then I look up and see some feathers! At first I thought it was two pigeons going at it since there was a lot of movement, but I soon realize it's just one big seagull...ha ha:

Taken in a summer heatwave. A photo taken in the Exe Valley in Devon overlooking the rolling Raddon Hills, with its twisty narrow lanes which ascend and descend in alarming fashion, obscured by huge hedgerows whose natural canopies provide welcome shelter from the soaring heat.
