Not far from where I grew up. Dawlish, a nice little seaside resort in Devon which is famous for its black swans which can be found on the stream running through the town. Travellers from London down to the south west pass through Dawlish and get a great view of the sea! I used to love standing on the footbridge and waving at the train drivers. Sometimes they would wave back and sound the train horn!

When friends come over to stay, I always take them over to Dudley, where there are many canals, and some very long canal tunnels (some of them a couple of miles long!). There is a museum where you can take a trip by canal into one of the caverns where there is a light and sound spectacular showcasing the story of the Industrial Revolution. As there are no towpaths in the tunnels or caverns, visitors have the opportunity to drive the boat by 'legging', which is to lie on one's back and "walk" the walls. As I'm always one to have a go, I had a chance to take part in the legging and they gave me a nice certificate!

Are you near the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Llangollen Canal

It's about an hour from here. I've got my National Trust pass and have been planning to go over to Chirk to visit the castle and also see the aqueduct. Hopefully something to look forward to once the restrictions are over and the weather's a bit warmer!

I love the Grand Theatre in Wolverhampton - such a fabulous Victorian building and a magnificent setting for the many excellent plays and shows that take place there.

Got to walk around a little town the other night, called Fort Payne. First time, Christmas in Dixie. It was foggy, took picture of a Catholic Church there near the police station, and fire station.

Hadrian's Wall was constructed as early as 122 AD. It was built to separate the Romans from the barbarians.
