CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Not far from where I grew up. Dawlish, a nice little seaside resort in Devon which is famous for its black swans which can be found on the stream running through the town. Travellers from London down to the south west pass through Dawlish and get a great view of the sea! I used to love standing on the footbridge and waving at the train drivers. Sometimes they would wave back and sound the train horn!

When friends come over to stay, I always take them over to Dudley, where there are many canals, and some very long canal tunnels (some of them a couple of miles long!). There is a museum where you can take a trip by canal into one of the caverns where there is a light and sound spectacular showcasing the story of the Industrial Revolution. As there are no towpaths in the tunnels or caverns, visitors have the opportunity to drive the boat by 'legging', which is to lie on one's back and "walk" the walls. As I'm always one to have a go, I had a chance to take part in the legging and they gave me a nice certificate!

It's about an hour from here. I've got my National Trust pass and have been planning to go over to Chirk to visit the castle and also see the aqueduct. Hopefully something to look forward to once the restrictions are over and the weather's a bit warmer!
