This is amazing! It doesn't even seem like something realistic. Definitely otherworldly and almost looks like a delectable dessert. Thanks for sharingSwirling clouds in Jupiter's upper atmosphere. Image taken by the Juno probe.

So I found an interesting feature on Google Earth that I wasn't aware of. You can go to other planets now and zoom in and see different features or where different satellites have been positioned. Even the moon you can see the names of the people that have landed in different spots. I was at work and share this with other coworkers that were quite surprised.
So cute!My homeboy Lantis' cat as it jumped on my lap the other night ... and got itself caught in the bag of food near me.

Did you hear in the news about perseverance on Mars capturing Phobos passing over the moon looking like a potato?Possible dunes on Jupiter's moon Io. The dark area in the lower left is likely emplaced lava flows. The bright, white areas may potentially be dunes as the lava flows vaporize adjacent frost. Image taken by the Galileo spacecraft.

Did you hear in the news about perseverance on Mars capturing Phobos passing over the moon looking like a potato?
I also learned that Phobos won't be around forever that it has a shorter life. There's different theories about what will happen to it.

I will have to look that up. That is fascinating. I heard it on the news while I was driving.Yes! Saw the images. I loved seeing the Martian "eclipse"
I idea is that Mars will get rings, like the gas giants. when Phobos get close enough the tidal forces rip it apart and create dust ring around Mars. The same may likely happen to Triton, Neptune's moon that orbits in the opposite direction of Neptune's rotation. Triton is likely a captured Kuper Belt object not too different than Pluto.
