I have been studying the bible for over 50 years. I have also taken seminary courses. I also keep to a yearly Torah reading schedule as well as haf torah. Your constant insinuation that I don't know what my Bible says is disturbing as that seems to be your only recourse to what I've presented.

For one thing you say this:
" Don't just pray the Our Father once in your life because you mistakenly think repetition is wrong."

I used to think that was what should be being taught that by man, but then I read for myself and then understood by the leading of the Holy Spirit that was not to be taken literally, word for word .

It is actually an out line or a order of prayer.

It is in line with the two greatest commandments - God first, then your neighbor as yourself.

  1. Address: Our Father
  2. Location: Who is in Heaven
  3. Reverence: Holy is your name
  4. First order of prayerful request: Your Kingdom come, Your will be done in earth as in Heaven
  5. Personal requests: Give us this day our daily bread ( be reliant upon him to provide each day just like in the wilderness with the manna) Also this refers to the manna from heaven, Jesus himself.
  6. Loving our neighbor and how forgiveness works - only God/Jesus can forgive sins ---And forgive us our trespasses - in the same manner as we forgive those who trespass against us.
  7. Request for spiritual protection - Lead us not into temptation - rescue us from evil
  8. Back to the Lord God - in praise and worship - For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. Amein

Brings back memories when I did a solo of this as a teen in front of the whole congregation.

It shows we can all learn something, perhaps your anti-Catholicism caused you to blank out the portion of the Bible that showed repetition could be quite pleasing to God:
Revelation. 4: 8: "Day and night they do not stop exclaiming: 'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God almighty, who was, and who is, and who is to come.'

I'm not one of the four creatures around the throne of GOD, who created them to do such a thing.

It is written in the Word of God, I assured you they do not pray in vain repetition.
We were talking about prayer. What the creatures were doing was not prayer, it's called Praise.

While prayer can include praise, praise is not prayer.
That is repetitious prayer, which is pleasing to God. From the Bible we are taught that what pleases God and what does not:

Matthew 7

Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition

Judging Others

7 “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. 3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.

How does calling me a hypocrite (an actor) have to do with what praise is and what prayer is?

The four creatures were created to worship the LORD 24/7, they are not praying to him, they are giving Him His due praises.

from a Catholic apologetic site.
"When Jesus made the statement condemning the pagans’ vain repetition, he was not talking about the Catholic Rosary or the Divine Mercy Chaplet or any of the other prayers that Catholics recite in repetition. To be sure, Jesus was not condemning repetitive prayer."

Some Repetitive Prayers in the Bible:

Sacred scripture is packed with prayers that repeat.

•In Daniel 3:57 onwards, the words: “Bless the Lord, praise and exalt Him above all forever” are repeated multiple times.
This is clearly PRAISE, not Prayer

•In Psalms 136, “God’s love endures forever” is repeated over and over and over.
Again, Praise in a statement form

•In Matthew 20:31, Jesus answers the prayer of the blind man because of his repetitive prayers.
Repetitive or persistent?

•In Mark 11:9 the author writes, Those preceding him as well as those following him kept crying out (repeating), ‘Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”
Way different than prayer, it was the praise offered a King.

•And how about the verse in Revelation 4:8? The four living creatures, each of them with six wings, were covered with eyes inside and out. Day and night they do not stop exclaiming: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God almighty, who was, and who is, and who is to come.” These praises will be repeated more times than there are even numbers for.

Even the author of this Calls them 'praises'.

This is evolution thinking

Exactly who decides all these things … and what of those who do not comply?
no we are not God … nature is not God …. God is there creator of all things

OH, and your first link is from NPR, which never cared much for
Catholicism, much less Christianity.

Christianity is not about signing up for a religion. Christianity is about being born into the family of God (John 3:3). It is a relationship.

Letting people know they can have a personal relationship with Jesus is not putting a burden on anyone … we help people because they need help … period…. Regardless of who they are and what they may or may not believe is irrelevant. It is showing compassion for one another.

Christianity is not about signing up for a religion. Christianity is about being born into the family of God (John 3:3). It is a relationship.
It's both. We receive the gift of faith from God when he reveals himself to us, however that may happen.
We then respond to our faith through religion. Fellowship, which people find in religion is necessary for them.
They desire to be with people who have experienced Divin Love as they have. There is a hunger to share with
others, what we have experienced, and this is done through religion first.

There are many "religions" .... many of which dismiss or distort the primacy of Jesus.

The primacy of Jesus stands at the center of all that is Christianity. Jesus has no superior. He has no equal. He has no substitute.

Yes, that's #6 above in my post

  • Loving our neighbor and how forgiveness works - only God/Jesus can forgive sins ---And forgive us our trespasses - in the same manner as we forgive those who trespass against us.

I never said anything about Jesus not being the primacy of a person's faith. How Jesus reveals himself to the
individual happens in various ways, including the actual apparition of Jesus himself. Everyone receives
according to Divine Will, not their own. The only thing we can do is be open to God's revelation.
