Reformed Charasmatic.....lol...ever heard of that???
I belong to a Reformed Denomonation with strong theological roots and are well grounded.....but are Charasmatic in believing in the gifts of the Spirit (yes, tongues also) and welcome clapping, dancing etc.... Im in the band, hubby leads it.
I like this description. It describes our Church. I use to tell others tht I was Charismatic but our Church does not clam to be Charismatic. Now I say I'm Non-denominational/ Full Gospel, we believe in all the gifts of the Spirit too. And, yes we welcome dancing, I'm on the dance team, I love to dance before the Lord.

I was raised in the Pentecostal church, The Church of God of Cleveland (TN). However, that church split. My family and a few others had no choice but to leave. We now attend an Assembly of God. I have lost my faith in the Pentecostal way. I feel God directing me to Methodism. I think I will convert to The Evangical Methodist Church or The Salvation Army. I am still not sure which one to choose. I need to pray about it more.

well y'all kind of protest everything. War, slavery, economic injustice... :)

Pretty much. I'm half inclined to make a batch of big yellow-and-black signs with stripes on them that say "PROTEST", and see if I can get people to just wander around picketing whatever comes to hand. :)

Was catholic before , now 7th Day Adventist

Now THAT's quite a change! :D

My husband was raised Adventist and is looking into the Catholic faith!

Me, I am coming into the Catholic faith . .

I have been Eastern Orthodox as a child, Episcopal as an older child (Charismatic), attended Church of God (Anderson Indiana) Spent several years in Four Sqaure, then different denominations, Baptist, Nazarene, Non-Denominational (I loved the last Non-denominational church we were in . God's love was pervasisve in that church .. it was truly like a family). Then after learing some things about the Reformaton, I began my search for which of all the denominations was the most right, and that led me to the Catholic Church (which is techically not a denomination at all as it is not protetant). . . so, pretty much came back full circle!

Now, an interesting part of this journey . . while I was seeking which denomination was closest to the full truth, and I had been looking at the early church to see what they believed, practiced and taught, I was struggling with what I was finding (which was that the Orthodox and Catholic Churches were the closest) . . . I was driving quite a ways from home, and as I was coming back, I asked God what I was supposed to do with what I was finding - was I to seek to try to become a Catholic or go back to the Orthodox Church though I had been having difficulty with that idea? . .. and you know how God uses "signs" . .

I was just coming up on a 7th Day Adventist Church and it had a sign out in front where they put quotes. . and that day it had a verse from the bible - I will try to remember it correctly - but this is the gist of it:

"Seek ye the ancient paths where the good way lies"

It was like getting hit between the eyes with a brick . . I don't know if God could have spoken more clearly. There is more to this particular story, but I'll stop there . . Your post above though caused me to remember this incident . . God works in interesting ways! :)

Peace in Him!
