Was catholic before , now 7th Day Adventist
Now THAT's quite a change!
My husband was raised Adventist and is looking into the Catholic faith!
Me, I am coming into the Catholic faith . .
I have been Eastern Orthodox as a child, Episcopal as an older child (Charismatic), attended Church of God (Anderson Indiana) Spent several years in Four Sqaure, then different denominations, Baptist, Nazarene, Non-Denominational (I loved the last Non-denominational church we were in . God's love was pervasisve in that church .. it was truly like a family). Then after learing some things about the Reformaton, I began my search for which of all the denominations was the most right, and that led me to the Catholic Church (which is techically not a denomination at all as it is not protetant). . . so, pretty much came back full circle!
Now, an interesting part of this journey . . while I was seeking which denomination was closest to the full truth, and I had been looking at the early church to see what they believed, practiced and taught, I was struggling with what I was finding (which was that the Orthodox and Catholic Churches were the closest) . . . I was driving quite a ways from home, and as I was coming back, I asked God what I was supposed to do with what I was finding - was I to seek to try to become a Catholic or go back to the Orthodox Church though I had been having difficulty with that idea? . .. and you know how God uses "signs" . .
I was just coming up on a 7th Day Adventist Church and it had a sign out in front where they put quotes. . and that day it had a verse from the bible - I will try to remember it correctly - but this is the gist of it:
"Seek ye the ancient paths where the good way lies"
It was like getting hit between the eyes with a brick . . I don't know if God could have spoken more clearly. There is more to this particular story, but I'll stop there . . Your post above though caused me to remember this incident . . God works in interesting ways!
Peace in Him!
