Hi there!

I belong to this church....

1Ti 3:15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

Praise God!!! I am going to a Southern Baptist church. The church of the living God is the one I belong to.

I go to a small (about 100 members) reformed church (we recently voted to remove "Baptist" from the name) with

about 75% credobaptist, the rest covenant baptist or undecided. Median Age is about 20 because of the number of

children and (relatively) young couples in attendance. We are presently associated with two groups (Confederation

of Reformed Evangelicals and Federation of Independent Reformed Evangelicals) but are not subject to

ecclesiastical authority ouside of our congregation. We are ecumenical so far as non-essentials of the faith are

concerned (we won't run you off if you can acknowledge general agreement with the Athanasian Creed) although

elders and deacons must be calvinist, preferably post-calvinist (ala Jamey Bennett of Razormouth.com).

(disclaimer, I am not an elder or deacon of said church and some of my opinions are no doubt hopelessly

intertwined with factual statements)

I honestly don't really know. I was baptised Presbyterian when I was an infant (about 1 year old) but that was a long long time ago, and I only became a Christan by choice 11 years ago. Ever since then I have been looking for a Church I can call home (I envy people who have their own Church). I visit lots of churches but don't really feel like I belong anywhere. I have a friend and she plays bass in a couple of church bands (Lutheran and Pentecostal, thats good range eh?!) She is Lutheran. So I mainly go to church with her and also go to an AOG and occasionally a Pres. (I even went to Mass with the Pope when he visited Sydney{Australia} in 1994, when I was living there) But I really wish Christianity wasn't so messed up with everyone touting for business and that there was just simply one denomination. When I first became a Christian it was a nightmare as I wanted to go to the right Church so as not to offend God, but then I found that just about every Church likes to tell you that they are the right one and eveyone else has got it wrong. So I started going to a different one every week. I was worried about offending God and hitching my wagon to the wrong crowd. I still find it hard. I feel closest to God by myself at home. I am a member of a small Bible study group, and we have been meeting together for nearly 3 years now once a week. At the moment there are a couple of Baptists (one was formerly a Uniting Chuch member) then there is me, and one young lady who is still investigating Christianity and is not sure of her commitment to Christ yet. I probably get more from this weekly Bible study than I do from any of the churches I attend.

So long story short, I am a confused free-lance Christian at the momemt. However I am sure God knows and will find me a home eventually :prayer:

Bless ya
Colin :) <><

I don't really have one. I was raised Baptist, but my father is Presbyterian (sp?). I now go to a Methodist church, but bounce around somewhat from place to place. I don't believe in denominations, just the Body of Christ. You either belong to Christ or you don't.
