THURSDAY THOUGHTS
I walked along with briefcase swing
along, along to the station.
There she walked
just up ahead,
shaped oh so jolly.......
a small round woman.

As I passed her by I said “G’d day”
An “Uh” she said, with such a look,
with such a look,
that shut out day;
yet held the night within.

That jolly shape
a tough shelled nut.......
And within .......within......
a soul full bursting for release
or a shrivelled thing
so small, so heavy
like a black black hole
where nothing comes forth
but every hurt is fast drawn in.

Should you per chance pass her by
say “G’d day” and perhaps “God bless.”
that the warmth of the light
may enter in where only darkness dwells.

In Love
Jay

Here is another poem in English

I Once had a Friend

I once had a friend,
a friend who'd say
"Oh, the Devil made me do it."

In his youth, he'd walk around,
with a wink and a swagger.
He'd go up to a lassie,
and give her a smile,
and pinch her on the derrière,
then he'd say, "Oh, the Devil made me do it."
till a young woman blackened his eye,
and without hesitation boldly replied,
"Oh, it was I who chose to do that."

A few years went by and he didn't change,
he'd strut and preen,
and bully and cajole,
whoever he could,
to get his work, not theirs, complete,
then he'd say, "Oh, the Devil made me do it."
till finally a colleague ripped it all up.
and with unexplained confidence, quietly replied.
"Oh, it was I who chose to do that."

I heard in the middle years,
he'd become quite brash,
with a flashy suit and conservative tie,
who'd end a deal with a friendly smile.
and take their money ever so Quick
then he'd say, "Oh, the Devil made me do it."
till a woman in black looked him straight in the eye,
smile and said, as she cuffed his wrists,
"Oh, it was I who chose to do that."

I sat in the pub, drinking with friends.
I hadn't seen him for many years.
And there he was, up at the bar.
The old guy next to him,
grabbed his arm and said,
"Oh, the Devil 's not the Devil my friend"

and quietly whispered in his ear.
My friend got up and returned the old man's watch
and scurried away with fear in his eyes.

I went up to the old man and asked,
"What did you say to my friend of old."
I asked him the name of his devil,
and he replied "Satan's his name."
"Oh, a know him well," I said,
"The Devil 's not the Devil my friend.
He's the Adversary, who notes your deeds,
and him you'll meet at judgement day.
So Ah would nay blame him."

I once had a friend,
a friend who'd say
"Oh, the Devil made me do it."
"What he says now,
I do not Know."

Walking nowhere

I walk to think and let it go
things I cannot see inside
there is much I want to know
the truth it seems to hide.
I wish I knew what tears I have
to cry for dreams to pass
I feel at times the wind is you
as mirrors are to glass.
You shine quietly in my thoughts
keeping me safe from harm
the fear that once owned me too well
fell from my heart that day
when you came back into my life
as though you never left
my tears of joy became a song
the lights upon the sky
saving me from myself
and lifting me up high.
I walk in clouds with you beside
and dreams I care no more
for all I know there is more love
and wonders left in store.

Nniicce! I gave you the rainbow icon, not because I think it's optimistic, but because that's how it made me feel inside!

I wrote that about 13 years ago and this one too

Sky my blues away

When I'm feeling down and blue
and think of many things I do
colors my mind paints are dark
for looking down the shadows gloom
until I lift my head in praise
I cannot see the light above
for in it shines God's shining love
A bright blue sky captures me
lifting me beyond the tree
In bright hues of every blue
I drift into your wonder
for my heart soars to think of you
who spread the sky asunder
with tears of joy I praise your name
for the beauty of your world
and when I feeling down today
I look up and sky my blues away.

This is a poem about growing up in a generation defying old religious prejudices.

Coming Out
As children we cried, " Prody Dogs!"
They cried, "Catholic Cats!"
Insults, jibes, taunts?
No!........ just names cast back and forth,
to make us feel different, special.

A difference reinforced by religion's words,
"The Faith, One, Holy,
Catholic (with big C),
Apostolic. Church, The Faithful "
Wahl we were hooked.

Years have past:
I thank those prody friends.
A shared existence spared me from,
a monocultured life bound by an unquestioned faith
of another's determined way with sacred guarantee.

I need no guarantee.
My faith lies in the human wisdom, of men and women,
hard won through lives lived in joyous hope. *1
here in chaos where discovery is the only grace.

This is my sacred scripture that teaches right and wrong,
I seek not scripture's of heaven or hell,
but only agape love *2: to have and to give,
as I make my way through life to afterlife.
I want no angel choir,
no seven or seventy virgins,
but to flow on the strings of time,
to create. *3

If, as is possible, I am refused,
I take heart from a man called Jacob,
and I will wrestle with G-d till I prevail. *4
After all my friends
There is a precedent.

*1 Human wisdom which is inspired by G-d and written by mankind as best they could to express their understanding of their relationship with the divine and what they must do.
*2 unconditioned love
*3 Genesis 32:22-30
*4 to do G-d’s work in the now kingdom of G-d.

In the time of Yeshua there were sadducees, essenes, scribes and other groups of practicing jews. Yeshua was not a member of any of these groups but was a member of the people of G-d to whom he wanted to reveal their G-d was doing.

I used to write poetry when I was in high school and then again in college for a creative writing class. The last boyfriend I had, maybe 7 years ago, wasn't infj like me. All INFJs have an ability for writing. And while he dated me he wrote poetry and would send it through the mail. I don't think he did that prior but it was within him. I might share a few here.

So I will share some of my poems from my creative writing class in college... I was probably 24 years old at the time.

These palms will not suit everyone and I totally understand. The first one is about when I was 20 years old and had just become a Christian or born again. The first year was rough and I definitely had to clean out and make choices with a lot of things to walk away.

The title is I cannot kiss you. the professor wanted me to throw out that I was on my way to Bible study on my 20th birthday. He felt it was irrelevant, but I kind of would have like to have left it in there because it shows about faith and the choices I'm making.

The second poem is about a summer job that I had in a factory in my hometown. I was into some heavy weightlifting and working 12 hours at a factory. A German woman that work next to me, told me that my predecessor was a Satanist. Although I thought I would never meet him, I asked the church that I was going to for that summer to pray for him. 2 weeks before leaving for college he came back on a different shift. My mind went wild with fear and imagination that he would be like the movie warlock. He was nothing like that but empty. He also told the German woman that he thought I hunted him when I had shook his hand and introduced myself. When I went to college my grandmother happened to see a police blotter with him being arrested for killing 50 cats and drinking their blood as part of his Satanist beliefs. And so I prayed for him more friendly. 10 years later I was in a young adult Bible study at a church in my hometown, I began speaking about this guy and what had happened there and my heart for prayer. Someone in the study said that he lived down the road from him, he must have been a child when all of this went down since he was 18 -20 years old. And my heart again was called to pray for him, you just never know what door will open.

This one was an assignment for me to go somewhere and sit down and observe and write down what I observed into a poem. I went and sat at a park for the first time, I was always on the go and biking so fast everywhere that I never had time to sit down.
Interestingly, this park had a lot of homeless people. Although I tried to be the observer I became the observed. What's interesting is that someone started off singing Mary had a Little Lamb.. and then saw me and my cross that I wore every day. The man stopped to kiss my sandaled feet, and of course I moved startled. By the end of the poem he was singing Jesus loves me this I know which ties in with Mary had a Little Lamb.

These are interesting, Sampa. I'm generally not a fan of modern poetry, but I like the hiaku-esque last one and the emotions in the first one the most.
Thank you! For the one with emotions are you talking about I cannot kiss you? Or prayers for the Satanist called Jeremy? I think the prayers for the satanists are a lot more emotional than the one I cannot kiss you. About a month ago I rediscovered the home I cannot kiss you. It was revealing of a long-standing issue that I need to work on if I'm able to walk towards a guy instead of having to continually walk away from losers. (Losers is a nice way of putting for guys with addictions or other bad things that are not of Christ.) By the way off topic I will be watching that movie that you recommended tonight.
