I was not chosen for salvation because God calls people to himself for salvation. Oh well

You went to God for salvation and that means you were called. Just the mere fact you sought God, in whatever way, proves that you are saved. Salvation is something Jesus did for you. Of course you belong to God. He loves you very much. Do you know why you are one of Jesus' sheep? Because you keep going to Him for truth. Even in real life, a sheep knows its shepherd and doesn't go to a different shepherd because it knows who is true master is. Our doubt, sins and lack of faith cannot move God from His position of love for us. I am going to look for some comforting bible verses that I want you to read everyday. Keep listening to Joseph Prince and lean on grace for your understanding. You are saved by grace.

God did not make people sinners by default. Man was given choice to obey or disobey God and we failed the test. There were consequences for that, as a result of God's nature and character. We brought sin into the world, not God.

That is not true. When you pray and ask God for anything, go on about your day and don't spend time thinking if God will or will not answer the prayer. God always answers our prayers when we least expect it and its always more than we asked. God is not waiting for us to be a certain way before He answers our prayers. God answers our prayers based on His goodness and the finished work of Christ and not based on us. Even just saying a simple prayer to God shows you have trust in Him. God knows that. He is not waiting for you to change. He is opening doors in our lives that only He can see but we will experience and it will put a smile on His face when He sees you walk through the doors He has opened. God is singing over you right now and as you sleep. His thoughts for you greatly exceed the sand in Earth. God will never leave you. He loves you and He is opening doors in your life that will bring blessings.

Thanks Casey86, I just can't see God being that way. I give up, I'm afraid of him, I don't trust him and I'm angry. He's going to destroy me and send me to hell when I die for my refusal to believe. I'm just too wounded

God sees us all as Adam and Eve. And if God sees us all one in the same, then Romans 5:19 clearly tells us that we are saved the same way we became sinners. One man disobeyed, and made us all sinners. One Man obeyed and made us all righteous. That is why the bible refers to Jesus as the second Adam. Jesus made you righteous. God is only going to embrace you in His warm loving arms when we all get to Heaven and yes you are going to Heaven. Nothing you say or do disqualifies you from God's grace. You are His daughter and nothing can change that. No bad feelings or thoughts or doubt or lack of trust can ever change how God feels about you. Does a mother hate their child if the child says bad things and doubts her love for them? Not at all. How much more do you suppose God's love not only endures but is ever present for you no matter what you say or do?

that's what repentance is for. his wrath is usually for people that are unrepentant.

Well I guess I qualify as unrepentant for refusing to trust God. I've just gone through this too many times and every time I see a ray of hope it goes away soon and I'm depressed and hopeless. When will the cycle ever end?

That verse is not talking to believers. Jesus gave us peace with God. Back in the days of Jesus many people heard the truth but chose not to believe Jesus out of religious reasons. For you that is not the case. You went to Jesus for salvation and God knows that. You are saved by His grace only. We keep wanting to base our salvation on a reflective life but that has nothing to do with the fact Jesus made you righteous. The reflections do not come by effort. Even doubting salvation is a reflection of being saved.

I think many of the articles you read about salvation are not good. They look like man's approach to assurance instead of Jesus' approach. Its easy to make out a list of questions for someone to answer and people do that because they think they are helping people find security in their salvation, but all they are doing is pointing the finger at you and making you evaluate yourself. God does not want us to rest in human security for what His Son did. God wants us to completely rest in what Jesus did. You don't need a list of questions or the opinions of someone from a blog or website. I listen to Joseph Prince daily because he preaches the gospel of grace. He does not sprinkle the old testament with it like most people do. He preaches the new covenant of grace and I believe the more we hear about God's grace the more we will rest in His love for us. I encourage you to listen to Joseph Prince everyday. You may get thoughts that try to contradict what he says but that just means it is true what he is saying because the devil doesn't want you to know the truth. He puts new free 30 minute audio and video podcasts of his sermons on iTunes every week and I hope you will download and listen to them. Keep doing that and you will come to rest in the finished work of Christ.

I hope you will take a moment to watch these sermon clips. We need to hear the truth constantly so we will be reminded of God's grace and love for us.

I feel alone in this all. I feel like a failure on evey aspect of my being, if only I was more interesting , loveable , more truthful then I could receive salvation, other people are able to trust and draw near to God as a father but not me. Hi Know,

I've struggled with extreme depression and my heart goes out to you....you are going through what I deal with too....I've worried about my salvation and it's sad but even my dad who isn't a believer, has more assurance and confidence that I'll be in heaven than I do! I also struggle with doubt about God and I always feel I"m not right in my walk with Him. I've felt that I must be too rebellious in my spirit and just wanting too much to do things my way in the end. And that there's is always something i'm doing or not doing, that is keeping me from having that successful right relationship with God where He is pleased with me and my walk with Him and in life.

I do know that the devil will try to get people away from the truth and from not seeing how God sees us and the closer we are there the harder the devil makes it on us! It's like the 'darkest hour is just before dawn'...this is what I hope on. That we are just really on the verge to being there finally! Please don't give up! that is what the devil wants. God truly loves you and wants you to live and be happy! I have been there so many times sweetie...wanting to give up...wanting to die...but something has still kept me here. so I go on this letting myself believe God wants me around and if I just press on that is what really counts! I'm saying yes to what God wants (me not killing myself) and no to what the devil wants (who wants me to do myself in). This ALONE (just to keep on and not give up) is a HUGE victory over the devil and a step toward God!!!!!

Sometimes the truth about God and how He feels about us and wants for us must trump our feelings because we can't trust our own feelings. (believe me, I do it so much of the time! I'm very guilty of this and my feeling have always gotten me in trouble and away from what is real!) They'll just hurt and confuse and distort what is really true!

Thank you Javan for replying. You are right but it bothers me that God would just leave us to live off of thinking that he wants us here just by allowing us another day of living. How could he want me to be happy when my life is this way. I feel so alone and empty. Im just a baby sitter for my siblings and other days I stay home trying to work toward a future. I have nothing to live for. Ill never find love or have children, it seems like I'm just unlucky in that area. It's just not meant to be. I feel deprived in so many aspects of my life. I wish God blessed me with a loving father and a nornal relationship with him like other growing Christians. The only area I ever see progress in my life is education but everything else (God, finding love, etc) has been a disaster.

I don't know how to heal from the hurts I have. Because of this ill never be while enough for anyone especially if I ask God for a spouse. Why would he answer my prayer when I'm so messed up?

Perhaps the reason God doesn't answer your prayer for a spouse right now, is because He knows now is not the right time. So right now you need to focus on getting better.

Finding a spouse, without working out the issues you are dealing with now, will not solve the problem. It will still be there.

One thing you need to do in order to deal with the hurts is connect with others. Find someone that you can trust in church, a pastor, a neighbor, someone. Someone who can walk through this with you. Find a counselor, or perhaps a doctor who can help you find some medication to help you through this and balance out your emotions.

Online help is great, but it's not as good as having people there close by to support you.
