So you do believe the New Testament as well? And is if fair to say you could also be called a christian?

Yes, that is what basically makes someone Messianic, from a Jewish standpoint that is. It is believing in Yeshua HaMoshiach ( Jesus the Messiah) that he is the living son of G-d and IS G-d, but instead of worshipping in a Christian church choose to worship in a Jewish manner, like those of the first century Jewish believers.

As far as being called Christian, no, the name Christian is from Christos, Greek, from Christ which is the same as Messiah, therefore we are Messianics because we live and worship in the extention of Judaism from the first century, not the way the Christian church was formed by taking out everything Jewish.

You could say that Messianic Judaism is a continuation of the Judaism before Yeshua came, and is now the same except we see the fulfillment of the scriptures in what he did and that He was and is the promised salvation of Israel and the whole world.

I hope that helps a little!

Shalom! :)
