  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am more humble than you are. And I can sense pretty well on who knows how much on what.

I am certain you are humble. But I see no reason why I should humble myself before you. I don't sense that you know much more about geology than I do, so I kind of dislike hearing you lord your "600 level" knowledge over me.

So far in this thread I am afraid I'm the only one of the two of us who has spoken in any detail about the topic of the aesthenosphere. Perhaps you should humble yourself before me and ask me politely.

So far, I only see you talked mostly on 100 level information, except a little bit about the nature of asthenosphere viscosity. Most importantly, I don't see you ask any good question. That is a very bad sign. How much you know can clearly be shown by the question you ask. Problems with plate tectonics is way more than just the asthenosphere. You push me to give you an example. I reluctant to do that because I don't think you can understand the example. On the other hand, whatever problem you can raise, I probably can respond with a deeper question, if not an answer. If asked a question about plate tectonics is hard to you, then you are probably only at 100 or 200 level on this topic.

You spend waaay too much time telling others what "level" they are talking at. I don't see any geology from your posts. So I guess I'm ahead.

Most importantly, I don't see you ask any good question.

I asked you specifically what you questioned about Plate Tectonics. You typed a number. That isn't meaningful. Again, I've presented far more geology in this thread than you have. So please don't sit in judgement of me.

Remove the beam from thine own eye first.

You are exceptionally rude. I don't believe you have any information to give.

On the other hand, whatever problem you can raise, I probably can respond with a deeper question, if not an answer.

I can understand that you could provide more questions. That's the easy part. Let me know when you have learned some geology so you can provide answers.

Right now all you are doing is consistingly insulting me.

Again with this "level" discussion. MUST you be so insulting all the time? I would far rather you act with the HUMILITY you claim you have rather than this incessant insulting.

I have shown a friend this thread. He has taught geology. He sees nothing in your posts on this thread that indicates any real background in geology on your part in this thread.

Please stop trying to insult others' understanding of the topic until YOU show some understanding of the topic.

Do you assume that we can't interpret x-rays because the state inside the body may different from the outside?
Yes. Of course. No one was down there...but Jesus, and a lot of people and some demons.

As you like to say; there is no bad teacher, only bad students.

Try me, see if I am a good student.

Don't worry about not being able to answer my question. There is no bad teacher. I know it.

If you want to quit, you can simply do that without typing all that craps.

Considering you claim to be a teacher of geology, I can see why you have adopted that philosophy.

I clearly don't want to quit. I want to discuss this. But it appears you cannot do that.

You seem to have "an haughty spirit" in the words of Proverbs 16:18.

Perhaps if you spent less time telling people how low level their questions are and actually talking about the science we could actually move this conversation forward.

Does Juvenissun claim to teach geology????

I don't wish to be overly judgemental but based on what I've seen here I cannot believe that is the case. He seems singularly incapable of teaching geology.

Oh my, yes. Many if us have our... let's say... doubts about that claim.

Wow. I thought he was like me just an amateur who liked to learn about it but hadn't gotten too deep into it.

Does he ever say anything about the science? (Although I was glad to see that he used a standard viscosity unit for the aesthenosphere, Pa*s. That indicates that he must have some science training.)

Fine. Don't just criticize. Ask a question. No question, no discussion.

Or, I guess you prefer to have a question to work with. Right? If so, that could be done too. Just let me know you need a question. What do you do? A well-site geologist? Or a geologist in a particular department of an oil company? You tell me what you do and I try to give you a tectonic question which is related closer to your concern.

Warning. If you continue to be sarcastic, then I will turn to be hostile to you. I don't know if you are a real Christian. A real one won't talk like what you did.
