Halik leaned over and closed Ragetti's and Patel's mouths before they started drooling in dumb confusion. She looked around to see that most of the crew had cautiously gone back to their duties, keeping an even eye on the going-ons on the main deck. At least it looked like they'd be given passage on the ship, since they hadn't been thrown overboard yet.
The mood was tense and it was bothering Halik a bit. Usually this ship had an air of good times about it, but not now that Misty was here.
"They're probably wondering who'll become captain if that girl kills him," Halik thought to herself, walking up to father and daughter. "Um, excuse me?" she annouced, breaking the death stare Misty was holding with her father, "I'm going to assume that you're intrigued enough by Misty to allow us passage on your ship, Captain," she said, then turned to Misty, "What is going on? Why didn't you tell us that you're his daughter?" she paused for a moment then replied ot her own questions, "Well, not that it would've made much difference to me, I guess..."
"Hey, Patel," Ragetti said, tapping his friend on the shoulder, "Do you suppose they was expecting company out here?"
Patel grumble something about Ragetti's lack of brains as he turned to see a ship on the horizon, heading toward the Black Pearl from the west.
