ETA - not that the real issue here is a relationship or not. It is the fact that these gods are doing a really good impression of not existing. Even cats don't do that, regardless of my lack of a desire to have a relationship with them.

I'll entertain your embittered derailment for at least a few posts. Obviously criteria are important. Let's take one: effect.

Cats produce effects. Hair, dander, furballs, waste, dead mice, kittens, etc. If I find all those things I can reason to the existence of a cat.

God produces effects--let's just focus on the more obvious effects. Religion, high percentages of religious persons (belief), charitable works and foundations, holy books, sacred places, monks, zealots, etc.

The birds-eye view displays God's existence rather obviously. If an atheist born in a vacuum were to take a guess at what the world looks like, he would be wildly mistaken. And if he takes a look at the real world and wants to retain his atheism, he will need a stack of explanations and accounts more complicated than the fibs propelling Pinocchio's nose! Occam's Razor is a sure remedy, but side effects may include loss of cynicism and superiority, as well as difficulty in breathing until the nose heals. ;)

Good thing you know about cats. You know something about what they look like, their biology at least in general terms, and the like. You don't really know what God is except for the alleged "effects".

It's a poor analogy.

Jesus is what God looks like.

I don't see how that follows. Maybe you could explain?

God looks like Jesus. Jesus grew up, and was once a fetus. Before Jesus was a fetus, he didn't exist. At that time, did God look like a non-existent being?

Seriously, the idea that God looks like Jesus is a surreal argument.

The "Jesus didn't exist" part..

Explain that. What evidence do you have to support that?

I think you would have to demonstrate that she has indeed misrepresented the views of contemporary evolutionary biologists.

If by taking someone to task, you mean respectfully talking with them and trying to understand their views and reason with them, then sure, if you can prove she has argued against evolutionary theory by misrepresenting it.

You have made the claim she has so I am sure you have some reasons why you think this.
What claim did I make?
I will put as much effort into our discussion as you put into it.
Can you answer the questions put to you in post 1513?
