Don't you hate it when you're in New York and you go to see a Broadway play and then some snooty guy's all like "Please sir, you can't sneak your beer in here, and I'm going to have to ask you to put your shoes back on. This is the theater." And I'm all like "Psh, 'The' theater. It's a theater. There's lots of other ones around here."

ETA: That didn't happen to me, I'm just saying wouldn't that be a peeve if it did. I mean he was being a jerk, right? I mean he would be. Would have been. Would have been being. You know what I'm trying to say.

It really irks me when people answer a different question than the one that was asked because they don't know the answer and they don't want to admit that.

You must love politics.

When jobs are not given their traditional title and it gets substituted for some silly extension or term, often with the word 'engineer' in it.

For instance, 'server' or 'hospitality specialist' instead of waiter or waitress, 'learner' instead of pupil, 'sanitation specialist/worker/engineer' instead of cleaner, etc.

Especcially when Engineer is added, because it is rendering the term largely vacuous nowadays.

I have a serious question. Do you think it's narrow minded to want others to use the English language properly (assuming English is their first/primary language)? I mean, is it too much to ask for people to spell words correctly, use proper grammar, break on paragraphs, etc.? Or is that narrow minded?
