CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

When someone I don't know from other threads, comes onto my thread in the Fellowship room (Rapport with Renda) that a really nice person made for me, as an encouragement. And make a point of making me feel inconsequential.

When my 3 year old niece trashes the house I've spent hours cleaning, in 5 minutes!
I realize, she's three. But, they come over about 4 days a week, and I'm starting to develop a nervous twitch!
Oh, here's another one, also related to the 3 year old destroyer. When she misbehaves in public and people look down their noses at me as if to say "control your kid, you bad mother!" And my sister just sits there completely disconnected and oblivious.

My pet peeve:
Well, I'm a truck driver by profession, so my biggest pet peeve is when a four-wheeler cuts in front of me and hits his or her brakes, esp. when trying to catch a missed exit. To truckers that's very annoying, and dangerous. Also when four-wheelers cut in front of me very close in passing.

when me, DH and the boys come in from a night out,
and i find the kitchen a mess....
FIL doesn't clean up after he makes a mess.
Then, my DH sees that i am upset, and asks me what is wrong...
So i tell him and then i get the "rolled eyes" expression!!!
EXCUSE ME FOR NOT WANTING TO BE YOUR FATHER'S MAID!!
And besides....YOU ASKED!!!!!

It's a man thing. My husband doesn't like to put the fan on in the bathroom when he takes a shower. So, it turns into a swamp in there. And we live in an area where it's very damp anyway. So, I have to combat mold constantly. Something I'm really, really allergic to. So... I ask my husband, why he can't put the fan on when he takes a shower. And he says, "because I'm trying to save energy". And I reply "who's energy? Yours or mine? Because when you don't use the fan, I have to wash down the walls with bleach, chip off the bubbled paint and repaint the whole bathroom. And paint costs like $30.00 right? So, tell me is it really saving "energy"? He replied very sweetly (I was shocked because the man was born arguing) "Yes Ma'am" Men!
This is my Pet Peeve for today: When I buy something like a lip stick from the grocery store, and lose it between the check out and putting things away in my house! (That stuff is so expensive. It just bugs me when I do that! )

People who don't even give you their full attention. I can respect someone having their mind on other things or not being very social. But I guess this is sort of the verbal side of the opening post pet peeve. If you are in a conversation with a person , at least pay attention. Have the respect to make eye contact and wait until someone is finished speaking before answering... Communication skills....

My pet peeve for today: People who stink. (that stanky old house with twenty years of smoking with the windows closed, I never clean my cloths smell. ) If you don't want to bathe, please stay home!

my FIL is like that! He only showers once a week.
It doesn't matter that he works all day in a smelly factory...sweating and picking up who know what from that place!
Then he comes home and doesn't change out of his uniform all night! and sits on our furniture and gets it all smelly!
BLECH!
oh p.s. he wears the same uniform all week!!! double BLECH!
