CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Oh this irritates me to no end. Sometimes, I know it's not a Christian thing to do but....I drive slow just to get their undies in a bunch.

Pet peeves... hmmm, when people are too easily offended. ...You know how some people can be. You say you got a spot on your tie ( because if you had a spot on your cloths you sure would appreciate if someone would tell you so you could go wash it off.) ... and all of a sudden they act like you're saying that you're disgusted by them, they can't do anything right! They can't even dress themselves properly! and they might as well just go kill themselves because everybody hates them. (I mean, I want to be nice, understanding, patient. I know sometimes people are sensitive. Shoot, I'm sensitive sometimes. But, it gets sooooo old when adults act like needy 3 year olds who not only need you to sugar coat everything you say to them, but pretend that they're perfect when come on, they're just as human as anybody else. ... just so they don't have a mental breakdown. )

And yes, I know...that sounded very the opposite of compassionate. (callous) And it's a well known pet peeve of mine when people are not compassionate.

Being accused and blamed (yelled at in front of my kids and my niece) for "taunting" my 9 year old daughter into having a full on temper tantrum (including slamming doors) by my husband. (they have a snow day today. And he works at home. She's a red head, with a temper to match, who has full on temper tantrums as a matter of course. I don't taunt her. If anything, I try to understand that she's a little high strung and prone to immature behavior. But, he thinks all children should be silent while he is working, which is about 24/7 these days. )

BTW, I just want to add, my children, compared to most other children, are really, really quiet and well behaved. Everyone says so.

Well, pretending to be civil, when you really can't stand the woman is going to drive you batty hon. Not trying to tell you what to do. But, the truth has a tendency not to stay hidden.

Pet peeve: Women who complain about their spouses. (I've always hated that, and because of the current state of my frustration, I'm gulity of it too. ) (I moved my problem into the womans discussion forum. This is really not the place for it. )
