  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Well, pretending to be civil, when you really can't stand the woman is going to drive you batty hon. And it will probably not make a lot of sense to your husband when it all comes out later. The truth never stays hidden. The truth will always find a way to get out.

Maybe you'll find a way to like her. Maybe if you pray enough for her that your heart actually changes towards her, then you'll be able to go ahead with the buddy, buddy Bible study. But, if you can't, you're just asking for trouble. Believe me.
yeah..i know what you mean! I'm trying to find something to like about her. She is a good mom to her two children. She often boasts about things but I can see where she is coming from.

I know I shouldn't complain about my husband. He works hard provides a roof over our heads, he doesn't drink or have any other addiction problems. He doesn't hit me and he doesn't cheat.

I'm lucky.

He just treats me with such contempt.

Pet peeve: Women who complain about their spouses. (I've always hated that, and now I'm doing it. )
yup! that too!

Snowbirds! For those of you not living in the west who don't know what that is - they are people who head south in the winter when it gets cold in their hometowns. They have a major tendency to slow things down (traffic wise) and make the stores impossible to go into at a reasonable hour. :swoon:
there are snow birds here in upstate ny that fly south for the winter! LOL!

When people think they're "rebellious" and "hip" and "insightful" when they basically rail against obvious flaws in the world -- materialism, bureaucracy, entitlement...

And then they go out and buy expensive antiques and technology and stuff. I feel like saying, "Try taking a REAL stand. Live frugally and give your money to the poor, why doncha?" Has nothing to do with altruism and everything to do with self-aggrandizement.

When marezee complains about her father in law, yet again. ;)

Just kidding. You need to vent, this is the place.

P.P.: That Indiana doesn't think street signs, highway signs or well, anything helpful when you are on the road in the way of signs is necessary! Basackwards way of doing things if you ask me!

It's an American-ism my friend... complaining and being rebellious.

Agree! My pet peeve too. When anyone, thinks they can and should give me advise about parenting, when they are not parents. (I don't say anything. I mean what can you say? Come back when you're not an idiot? :D )

"Indiana, turn right at the mailbox, go about 10 minute until you see the blue silo, not the red one, then turn right at the fork, not the fork that only goes slightly to the right, but the real fork that goes all the way to the right. If you've gone past the corn field, you've gone too far." "Hello? Corn field? It's all corn fields!?"

I know, I didn't know they were this way before I moved here! And the thing is, they think I'm nuts because I think California freeways are safer. (snobs) They are btw. If Indiana had to deal with as many drivers as California, with the basackwards way they've got things set up? People would know as many people who were killed on the freeway, as they currently know who've hit a deer!

Oh, I know what you mean. The "well, I wouldn't put up with" or "what I would do is" attitude...

"Honey, did I ask you for your opinion?" :D

It's hard to not say "well, when you are married (or have children), we'll talk" But, I try not to.

I often ask myself, was I that much of an arrogant know it all, when I was at that stage of my life? ...I probably was. In fact, I know I was. And it's embarrassing, knowing now, that people felt this way about me.

Okay, my pet peeve for the day.

Actually, I have two.

The words "I can't". Especially when they are whined.

And when overnight guests can't seem to turn the lights off when they leave a room. (we are very careful not to be wasteful with energy. And it would be nice, if people who are staying here would be more conscientious about it. (yes, I have asked nicely) )

Worry about my husband (dying) keeping me awake at night...and the christians who chastise me for it.

All I have to say to them, (because I can't really say it to them in person) is it's real easy to pass judgment on someone when you're not in their position. I've got three children and no bank account or career to fall back on and a mountain of debt my husband has created. If he dies...We're homeless.
