I am on-topic. You brought up the matter of fetal tissue in the OP.

An organization calling itself Center for Medical Progress recently release a video supposedly showing a Planned Parenthood official discussing prices for the illegal sale of fetal tissue. After investigation it turned out that the video was deceptively edited. The fact is that a few Planned Parenthoods will donate tissues with consent in compliance with the law. Most Planned Parenthoods do not.

So, why the lie? Is stopping abortion so important that it is necessary to knowingly distort the facts? Why not tell the truth?

They are telling the truth. The fetal tissue you cavalierly refer to is dismembered body parts as can be seen in the videos ... arms, legs and internal organs are clearly visible. Those specific body parts are sold. I'm not aware of any lies in the videos.

You were asked by Avid to articulate the "lie" and you chose not to do so. If you really want to talk about the "lie", might I suggest that you state what the "lie" is. Thanks.

It clearly states that the discussion in the thread is about the PP interviews, not videos showing fetal tissue. The OP also uses the word "prices," but that doesn't make the thread a discussion about the economy.

This is what America has become with the advent of the idealogue. These people are so wedded to their ideology that, to them the means justifies the ends and if anything blows up in their faces, they simply sidestep the facts and try something else. The rest of us have to wipe they egg off our faces for having put support behind the findings that we thought were legitimate.

These people care nothing for those on either side of the issue and disrespect everybody enough to use them like pawns in a game of public opinion.

The worst part about all of this are there are people who actually eat this stuff up and actively support these image manipulators because anything derogatory that this Charlestons bring up justifies their supporters mental imagery of those on the opposition.

A person who grasps at anything to demonize others in order to feel better about themselves has nothing to stand on. Sadly that's the state of affairs in this partisan political world we live in where sensationalism speaks louder than truth.

Truly, if this is the intent, we should be able to see something other than that, somewhere in the video, PP stated they were not in business to sell fetal tissues. The lie then would merely be that PP will say one thing, but change to the opposite as soon as it is self-serving, regardless of the law.

In case anyone else reading is in any doubt I am against abortion, but only slightly less against legal abortion than illegal abortion. I am also and perhaps equally against bearing false witness, particularly in an attempt to further the Kingdom. It is not possible to work on behalf of God by using the tools of satan. The only point I was trying to make was that this is particularly troubling if Catholics are indulging in it, because the RCC does not recognise the concept of the lesser of two evils; any evil remains intrinsically evil, no matter why it is done.

Other than that, I have no particular axe to grind. I cannot comment on the specifics of this case as I have no privileged information to offer.

Good point. There has been a hint in this topic of finding abortion repugnant and concluding that PP therefore is selling baby parts. That isn't good logic. One can find abortion repugnant and still conclude that the tissues and organs are not being sold but are being handled legally, if the whole of the evidence warrants. One can find abortion acceptable and still conclude that the tissues and organs are being sold and handled illegally, if the whole of the evidence warrants.

That's why I introduced the example of a heart being removed from a cadaver. If we can all discuss what sort of remunerations the surgeon and hospital can legally and morally accept in such a case, then we can return to the discussion of fetal organs with some common ground for our discussion.

I am disturbed if and only if Catholics are involved in bearing false witness irt this matter. I do not know whether they are or not; that is not for me to say. I saw the first short video, and I know there is a longer one which casts doubt on the suggestions of the first, but I have not watched the second one. I concluded that this is a matter for other people to deal with.

That anyone can defend what Planned Parenthood is doing is almost as horrific as what Planned Parenthood is doing. They are abortion mills, little more, and the videos clearly show the callous and depraved nature of those involved. The only deception is on the part of those defending the practice.

I posted at length about this with multiple sources providing supporting evidence, but that post was removed. In other words, the report button was the only response.
