since the state investigation has already cleared PP of any wrongdoing...
How does any agency clear anyone of wrongdoing when all the evidence has not been released yet?

The title of this thread is a little misleading. Planned Parenthood has not been falsely accused in the video. The article is about one State where Planned Parenthood operates and the facilities in that State don't participate in the fetal tissue donor program. So it's misleading to suggest that all of PP has been falsely accused. There are more State investigations going on and a Federal investigation as well. Not only that, but you haven't heard the testimonies of all that have been called before the congressional committee so there's that. We've a ways to go before PP is off the hook.

However, the initial post was about the deceptive editing of the videos? No one has yet offered a valid reason as to why this was done other than to make PP look bad. Why the lies if the anti-abortion groups have the moral high ground as they claim?

You're saying that the State of Indiana is the only State doing investigations? There are 7 as of July 20 ...
Recently heard that FL Governor Rick Scott is ordering an investigation of Planned Parenthood.

Title 42 Chapter 6A of the U.S. Code, which includes laws governing the use of fetal tissue, clearly states no alteration of the timing, method, or procedures used to terminate the pregnancy may be made solely for the purposes of obtaining the tissue. The changes to the method of abortion, in order to preserve certain organs for harvesting and sale, as discussed on this video, clearly violate federal law.

http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode

There are things going on that are clearly against the law. We hear that PP (the organization) is not profitting from the sale of fetal organs, etc., but that does not mean the doctors are not! In the video they reveal how they anticipate purchase of a Lamborghini from these profits. It may only be in New York, and NOT in Indiana. Does that make it right?

I think the Lamborghini was just an insensitive and unprofessional joke (that wasn't funny). But I do think it may have pointed to an acknowledgement by the PP rep that the $$ did matter and the more $$ the better. And even though PP said in different places that it wasn't about making money, they would, at the same time, talk about how much money they would charge for this or that. And it was clear they were negotiating for the most $$ they could get.

It's like if I said that I wasn't interested in making money on my donations I just wanted to recover my costs and then I asked how much you'd be willing to pay for my donations!! Such statements were made throughout the videos. They'd deny the very thing they were affirming!

Just because the evidence wasn't given to you personally doesn't mean it wasn't released.

Indians is run by adults; they're quote capable of running their own investigation.

There are many more investigations still under way so don't throw the confetti just yet.

Oh we're all sure there will be endless Congressional hearings with lots of high dudgeon and bluster from the usual suspects.

I think thats probably why you are sick of being questioned as an alleged pro life advocate (as you opined earlier). When a person makes the claim that the Bible condemns murdering millions of babies less than false witness its not even credible for objective people to consider the person pro life. They almost certainly are not.

Is saying something that is not legally murder is murder and something that is not scientifically a baby is a baby false witness?

Claiming that a video getting edited proves a point is somewhat off the reservation. In the history of videos almost all of them get edited. IF I had videos where people were negotiating the highest price but claiming they were not in it for the most profit I'd probably edit it out if I had proof of the lying.

I did not say that the video had been edited. Pretty much every video gets edited. I specifically said that the video had been deceptively edited, meaning that parts of the interview were removed to make it appear that the interviewee said things that were not actually said. That is lujng pure and simple.

Regardless of bias (everyone has some,) the facts are clear on the video (give us an example of parts that were omitted that would make it clear they were not talking about harvesting organs, etc., from aborted fetus tissue.) If I and some other person here (neither of us involved in this at all) were to say those things, taken out of context, it would be horrific. Otherwise, it would be clear we were making light of a terrible, ILLEGAL activity. I am not going to buy a Lamborghini with money I do not make for a service I do not perform!!! My bias, and my comments, do not promote, nor do they cause, people to say those things. I do not participate in anything that would be on the side of the people who do, and talk about, that activity.

These people, on the other hand, are negotiating with a rep. from the company buying the fetal tissue. It is not out of context to think they mean what they say. My bias against selling baby parts contrary to established laws, is not pertinent to the discussion (nor is anyone else's) except as it may be proven to alter the story from the true facts. My bias does not affect something that happened halfway across the country, but the bias of people who wish to cover up illegal activity certain may!!!

Hmm is doing evil [lying] ok if it stops evil? Is there such a thing as necessary evil in the Christian perspective? Or do we use it to justify ourselves? I believe we saved a lot of jews doing that, and freed a lot of slaves doing it. If they lied in the video then there are dishonest, and I do not know if I can support their cause.

What certainly is disturbing to me, beyond the horrid idea of making merchandise of these aborted babies, is that there are court injunctions against the release of the additional video evidence. This strengthens my appreciation of FL Governor Rick Scott's move to investigate Planned Parenthood. There are other states investigating as well. The more states that look into this, the more the issue goes beyond a number of videos, each a few hours long, and it begins to fix what is broken.

Notice that two videos came out in the same week. That was likely a message to the court. And to PP. That video will get released. It's only a matter of time. Stem Express does not want it released because on it is evidence that babies born alive were allowed to die and then the bodies sent to Stem Express for organ harvesting. Welcome to the brave new world, progressive style.

So, why the lie? Is stopping abortion so important that it is necessary to knowingly distort the facts? Why not tell the truth?

Start by asking the judge in the case to allow the group to post all of the video. He put a gag order on them because what is in the video is so vile, it would turn most people against PP.

Nothing illegal was shown in the video. Fetal tissue was not sold for profit. The abortion procedure isn't altered to get the tissues intact. This is explicitly said in the unedited video.
Clearly, the shorter version was edited to eliminate statements by Dr. Nucatola explaining that Planned Parenthood does not profit from tissue donation, which requires the clear consent of the patient. Planned Parenthood affiliates only accept money — between $30 and $100 per specimen, according to Dr. Nucatola — to cover costs associated with collecting and transporting the tissue. “This is not something with any revenue stream that affiliates are looking at,” she said.

The Center for Medical Progress video campaign is a dishonest attempt to make legal, voluntary and potentially lifesaving tissue donations appear nefarious and illegal. Lawmakers responding by promoting their own anti-choice agenda are rewarding deception and putting women’s health and their constitutionally protected rights at risk.

No. He did it because (http://www.latimes.com/local/california/la-me-0802-court-order-20150802-story.html)

"Releasing that information and the videos would subject federation members to "harassment, intimidation, violence, invasion of privacy, and injury to reputation," District Judge William H. Orrick III wrote in his decision issuing the order."

It seems a pretty reasonable response to the fraudulent activities used to gather and edit the video in question.

Strange that the anti-PP side needs to resort to making things up to prove their case. If PP was so awful I wouldn't expect that to be necessary.

I support the investigation of both sides.
If either is guilty prosecute them.
I do not automatically assume either is true.
I don't know how you can get someone to say they sell baby parts without them actually say it.

I also hear there is 13 videos, which a court has prevented from being posted.
I think a investigator should subpoena these videos and review them, then investigate the allegations.
If the video is edited to put words or statements in the mouth of the speaker that they didn't say, they should be arrested and punished to the fullest.
If PP is actually selling aborted body parts they should be arrested and punished to the full extent of the law.

It is possible to edit videos
