If Christians are off limits to Satan, why are we given such strong warnings about his abilities?
Clearly Peter didn't swallow your unbiblical nonsense.
1Peter5v8Be sober-minded; watch. Your adversary the devil prowls about as a roaring lion seeking whom to devour, 9whom you should resist, firm in the faith, knowing the same sufferings to be accomplished in your brotherhood throughout the world.

And early church members had already taken captive by Satan.
2Tim2v25in gentleness disciplining those opposing, lest ever God may give them repentance unto a knowledge of the truth, 26and they might come to their senses out of the snare of the devil, having been captured by him for his will.

Eph6v11 Put on the complete armour of God, for you to be able to stand against the schemes of the devil,
Every one of the above verses, plus many others make it plain that we have no automatic protection from Satan. We do however have legal status that we may choose to take hold of in the fight.
However, if we don't make that faith stand, then we have no protection against Satan and his demons.
