Hey guys!!

Im looking at moving to British Columbia, and I was wondering if anyone was from around either the Abbotsford/Surrey area or Suke (sp?) areas?
If so, I am looking for jobs and places to live when I move there.
WOndering if you guys could help me out.

I would rather be in the Abbotsford area. Im looking at the bible college there, but I would still like to move there to work even if I dont go to school.

ANy christian jobs out there? At churches or anyuthing?
ANyu help would be appreciated it

I would see if any of those towns have online newspapers, since those would show you any jobs postings and accomodation. As well, their municipal governments may have a website with similiar information.

I was thining... I know that there is a bookstore called "The House of James". Their radio jingle is a little irritating but I've heard that it is a pretty good store. If you minored in theology, you would certainly be (more than) qualified to work there. Their website is http://www.houseofjames.com/ and you can get their phone number off of that. I don't know if they are hiring but they are in Abbotsford so you might try them... they would probably have ideas as well.

My friend Sarah in Surrey works at a sausage factory, but I'm guessing that isn't exactly the kind of job you're looking for Did you know that there's two different Bible Colleges in Abbotsford? I just found out that I know someone at one of them, except that I can't remember who it is now

Hi layne from Calgary. I was just in your city this(technically yesterday) afternoon! What did I like best about Calgary? Driving North on Deer Foot Trail (actually I like Calgary. Go Flames Go!)

btw, If you saw the lost driver in Calgary with an Ontario plate yesterday(and last Monday), that was probably me.

Be careful about just up and moving to Abbotsford. I know so many young people who have this vision of moving to BC, thinking that it is the land of milk and honey, and then they end up moving back home within a few months because they can't find a job and the living expenses are so high... make sure that you get a job and a place to live *before* you move.

I'm in Abbotsford. Living expenses aren't that high, unlike Van.

I grew up in Surrey and have some friends in the Abbotsford area as well. Did my undergrad at Trinity Western University One of my good friends worked her way through college at one of the MCC group homes as a mental health aid worker. I'll give her a call and ask her for more information. I don't live in the area anymore (live in Jersey now), but I'll try think of where my other college friends worked at and I'll get back to you. Hey sotf. I live in North Vancouver but know some people who live in abbotsford and one friend of mine is moving up there because he wants to become a minister. I have been to a few great churches up there. The CLA (christian life assembly) in Langley is an awesome church, as is Abbotsford City Fellowship (that's the church Todd Bently belongs to, if you know who he is) Langley Vineyard is also a good church. There's also the Abbotsford Pentacostle Assembly, though I've never been to one of their services, I did go to a wonderful conference there. If you want any info about Vancouver, the surrounding area, feel free to pm me. (ps. I love your screen name. We have a christian bookstore here called Sign Of The Fish )

Oh sorry, I just realized you weren't actually asking for Churches to go to but jobs at churches. Well, I wouldnt say the job market it booming in abbotsford. It's a small town. But I'm sure you could find something at a church or whatnot. Surrey has lots of jobs becuase most people don't want to live there. But it wouldnt be so horrible if you had transportation.

you could try getting a job <seasonal> at a Kids camp or somthing like that, yeah the pay isn't great but its rewarding... i know there is one in Langely and in burnaby... that is a beautiful area to work/live. i think i was born there, i can never remember.

Im still looking for a job. Ive been looking at christian camps out there. But I guess it all depends on whether or not I get accepted to school out there
