patience for my kids

please pray for me my fellow Christians.. I need guidance over parenting.

due to stress related to work, my husband's absence and things that bothers me i often shout at my kids, i also spend much time in work and in computer here in our home that i don't want to be bothered,, if my children will come and approach me i easily get irritated especially when they can't understand what i wanted to say.. i don't want to be asked, i don't want to answer BUT's and IF's.. i just want to be on my own. My son who has to be tutored suffered most of my inexcusable attitude..

please pray for me to sort what's going on in my head.. i don't want to be like this. i'm an aunt/mom to my 2 nephews as well who's under my care because their parents can't take care of them properly and here i am behaving like an evil, "stepmom"! God please help me:


i feel guilty over what's happening. i believe i'm being like this for a month now.. I love my kids and i will give everything that i have for them.please pray for me to have patience, strength and completely be a good mom for all of them, please pray for their safety as they go out and return to school everyday.. make them free from sickness too, In Jesus' name.

Praying for you. It must be really difficult.

You need to know, however, that yelling at your kids is your choice. You are in control of whether you yell or not. I know, because I am also a yeller, and the daughter of a yeller. There came a time when I made a commitment to never, ever raise my voice to anyone again. That was a long time ago, and I have kept my promise. I encourage you to do the same. Instead of raising your voice, intentionally lower it. It helps you stay in control when your temper is rising.

God says in your anger, do not sin. Pray against the spirit of impatience and self centeredness in relation to your children. They are watching how you handle stress, and will follow in your footsteps, so leave a positive legacy by your daily choices. You can do all things through Him who gives you strength.
