Gluttony is indeed a sin, and the end result of gluttony is obesity. Many countries have huge problems with obesity, but how often do we hear Christians condemn gluttony, as they happily condemn sexual sin?

The endless focus on sexual sin distorts our concept of what sin is; it becomes something that 'they' do, but which we do not do, and therefore we can think ourselves to be pure and righteous.

That is a very, very dangerous path for anyone to go down, which is why it is important when considering sin to look at our own sin, and not other people's.

Meanwhile, you did not answer my question. Are all of YOUR sins overcome?

If not, why concern yourself with other people's sin?
When we think of gluttony, we automatically think of ppl as being obese. However, during Roman empire times, they had what is commonly called a vomitorium. Ppl would eat until they vomited and then would go back and eat again.

Show me in Scripture where gluttony is a sin. This is dangerous ground, as you risk calling every overweight person without a genetic predisposition a reprobate.

Google is your friend, and yes, reprobates indeed. But when do you hear pastors talking about gluttony as the Bible does?

https://www.openbible.info/topics/gluttony

Are my sins overcome? No ma'am, but I also don't walk around gloating that I am saved and completely forgiven while continuing to sin. Would you like me to list them for you? I am happy to share. I'm working on repentance, and praying for a change of heart.

I'm concerned with sin in general. This is well intentioned, but like Mr. Steven Anderson failed to do, it must be managed and kept in check...or you end up hating everyone because everyone is a sinner.

Your thoughts on the Scripture posted please.

I have forgotten what that Scripture was, tbh. But in general I do not comment on sins which I am not predisposed to. I am not familiar with them, I don't know what their particular temptation is like, or how heavy that particular cross might be to carry, so I do not comment.

Doughnuts, on the other hand, I understand them.

Whether it is fact or fiction, none of us truly knows because we weren't there. But, just because someone is obese does not automatically mean they are gluttons. My brother at his worst, weighed 180-185(stands 5' 10") and could put me to shame when it came to eating and I weigh 240-ish.

Now, I want you to find me one verse in the bible where God finds the homosexual lifestyle acceptable.

Who placed you as a judge to these people?

100 verses, and the majority have to do with selfishness and greed, rather than actual gluttony. Closest one is the Proverbs 23:2 verse, but again...we are under no law other than the law of the Spirit. And what are the commendments of that law?

As much as I would like to believe, I can't.
This is one of those statements I hear often and frankly, don't believe.

People do not believe in the Grace of Jesus Christ and Almighty God from choice, not from 'ability'. All people are responsible for their own choice, and the excuse of 'someone else made me' just doesn't work.

Yes. There are Christians - including pastors - who are seriously wrong about one or more aspects of Christianity. Being wrong does not disqualify them (anyone) from Grace, nor does it excuse others from non-belief from 'outrage'.

Homosexuality is forbidden by God. This is mentioned in various places and is not subject to reasonable doubt. However, Paul mentions ex-homosexuals as Christians and members of various church groups in his letters. So there is no Divine bias toward homosexuality. (Nor heterosexual impropriety, nor theft, nor murder, nor scratching in public, by the way.) The Bible implies not to be 'associated' with homosexuals in terms of lifestyle or encouraging such a lifestyle, but also implies having social and conversational 'connections' with homosexuals; or they would never hear the gospel.

And rather obviously, God doesn't kill homosexuals - immediately at least - for engaging in homosexual acts.

Back to the main point. YOU and you alone are responsible for your choices. Your non-belief is your choice and you cannot blame it on anything or anyone else. You can choose either, of course. You are 'free' to follow the choice you feel is best for you. Then again, you are free to hit yourself on the head with a hammer, but I suggest you don't.

By the way, feel free to begin a conversation with me to yell at me for contradicting you. Just understand I will answer you. And I will pray for you.

I don't know if anyone has ever heard of this man, but he's an extremely anti-gay KJV-only pastor who believes in the death penalty for homosexuals in Leviticus 20:13 and Romans 1:18-32, and that they cannot be saved due to their "reprobate minds". He's also cited Jeremiah 16 for his justification for not mourning the people in the shooting in Orlando.

Regretfully, it was this man who made me lose my faith, and caused me so much depression.
He's maybe the most Biblically sound pastor around today.Super man, nice church.

The crazy thing about Steven Anderson is that he bashes lukewarm "Christians", but yet, he indirectly says that those professing Christians who don't obey God's Word are saved. He says in a sermon something like this, "Once you're saved, nothing can ever separate you from God. Even if I were to go and do something really bad, like kill somebody today, God will make sure I get punished in this life, he'll make sure I will go to prison or get the death penalty, BUT I WILL STILL GO TO HEAVEN!"
Steven Anderson believes that a professing "Christian" who disobeys the Word the God will still be saved, though God might punish the professing "Christian" in this life and he will lose rewards in heaven. In other words, he's indirectly saying a Sunday lukewarm "Christian" is still saved and right with God.
That's contrary to God's word. 2 Thessalonians 1:8, 1 John 2:1-11, and other passages of Scripture, as well as Holy Tradition, say that someone who is truly saved by faith in Christ will obey Him.

Steven Anderson might bash the many lukewarm "Christian" churches in America, but he shares something in common with them: Both call true saving faith, regeneration for obedience, legalism. What Steven Anderson and these and other IFB people, like David J Stewart (jesus-is-savior.com and jesusisprecious.org) don't understand is that a real faith in Christ causes regeneration by the Holy Spirit. The one with the true faith gets transformed by Jesus into a God loving person who loves the things He loves and hates the things He hates. So faith is indeed by faith alone and nothing else. But faith and repentance are two sides of the same coin.

Pastor Anderson had his uses as a pastor for me, anyway. But that was only for a time and then I began to outgrow him because of his condemning attitude. I knew there were some things that he teaches is completely wrong.

Then I found Michael Chriswell on Youtube. Anyone interested in listening to a Godly sound person, go have a listen. :yellowheart:
