I just noticed that someone I know has recently declared himself to be a follower of pastafarianism.

I'm at a loss.

This just goes to show me even more that it is God alone that has to reveal Himself to people. As my dad told me recently (and I 100% agree with him) our job is to win converts to Christianity, but to bear witness to the truth. That is all we can do.

At first I thought it was some kind of joke, until I read the wikipedia link. Purposed to mock God as the Creator is very serious indeed.

I find this to be one of those things that we wonder why anyone would even start up a religion involving a food. This is very disturbing.

I wouldn't get too tied up in knots about it. God's truth is much stronger than this mans penchant for satire and reactionism. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets saved some day. gg

Good point. It seems to me that those most prone to this kind of thing are the ones who are feeling the tug of the Holy Spirit and trying to resist.
