And Macanaw peaches to be the new Lenten food! I'm also trying to emphasize the fact that the Latvian Orthodox Church is the only real Orthodox Church; all others are schismatics! ^_^ My friend, Bob Sacamano told me so.:sorry:

Nah, we all know you're just infilitrating the Orthodox Church, trying to get your favorite holiday, Festivus, on the calendar. :tutu:

But what will we eat for the rest of Lent (considering the Macinaw is only ripe for two weeks of the year)?

I have this idea....it's a restaurant where you make your own vegetarian Lenten pizza pie! The only argument we have is whether the pizza is a pizza before it goes into the oven or after it comes out?

You guys are cracking me up. I really needed the laugh. Thanks!

Anna

P.S. Suddenly, I'm craving pizza.

Ewwww! That seriously grosses me out! More the whole "basting" thing than Kramer's head on the chicken.

I had some anxiety about being Charismated when I was coming into the Church. I was afraid that the anointing oil would be all greasy and in my skin and hair. I have a major aversion to gooey and oily substances... An aversion way beyond rational. I'd rather get sunburns to blisters before putting sunscreen on even... Which is why I spend most of my summer days indoors (I'm a night person by nature, anyway).

Protoevangel--skin cancer potential victim! ^_^ Nah, it's ok. Even without sunscreen, you are "prognosis negative" (see if he gets the joke)

I remember being chrismated (confirmed) in the Catholic Church at age 20. I thought it was really cool, because it was the Holy Spirit and the Lord's power taking over my life. But I agree with you about creams and such. My wife puts on cream on her face and rubs stuff all over herself. I tell her that I could NEVER do that. Eesh....

Feeling bad because as often as I've heard my friends talk about how hilarious Seinfield is, I never really thought it was hilarious. Perhaps the humor is beyond me...although Krammer is very eccentric :)

It's not for everybody, you have to have a certain type of humor to like it, I suppose.

Seinfeld was one of those shows that seemed to really cross boundaries of humor to just about everyone. I didn't know ANYONE at work, in college at the time, or in my neighborhood who didn't LOVE Seinfeld. The humor is first rate. It has a lot of sarcasm, poking fun at all walks of life, it's iconoclastic with social conventions, and lampoons just about every bad quality we all share. That's why people relate well to it. If you go to IMDB (Internet Movie Data Base), you'll see it has a rating of over 9. For IMDB, that is astronomically high from like 69,000 reviwers. Usually people on IMDB are strict, picky, petty, and don't like anything. If you can hit 7 on there, you've done well! 9 is beyond grand slam. The ratings for the show, the Emmy's, the water cooler topics, the cultural cliches and bits that came from it, and the fact that so many people remember so many episodes show there's a gem there.

I say give it a chance.

That was a funny one...I like the part where Poppy AGAIN urinates on the couch!!! :p

As I do my homework (prepare my assignments on Microsoft Word), I find myself talking to my super-intelligent laptop: "You think you're smarter than me?" Immediately I hear the Doorman - "You think you're better than me?"

Definately think the show is beloved by many. It's just that on many things it was hard to understand what was going down. Would take me awhile to catch onto it, as I had to do with shows like "Friends" or "Golden Girls"
