You said social groups, even Ana quotes you on that...so are you saying that social groups equate to society?

Here's a quick definition of society from dictionary.com....

1. an organized group of persons associated together for religious, benevolent, cultural, scientific, political, patriotic, or other purposes.

So it's a good word for anthropologists to use. It can refer to gangs, religious denominations, political parties, nations, towns, etc.

It works for literally any kind of social group I can think of.

Actually society is a collection of social groups. If it were A social group all others would be excluded and we would all believe/behave the same.

So social group and society in this context are interchangeable.

No, SA's do not use these terms interchangeably at least not if they know what they are talking about. See #99 above.
Are you an SA?

I guess the real question would be how was the character of God determined and what factors were involved.

Love.

Can we demand others love us? No. It needs to be a "right back at ya."

It says in Genesis that man became like God in the sense we both know good and evil. My question is how did God determine what is "good" and what is "evil." The question I guess would be if God didn't create evil, then what is the origin of evil? Some say Satan is responsible, but did he actually create evil, or did he just embrace something that already existed? If God is infinite and He stays the same yesterday, today and forever then we could reason that God has at the very least always known of the potential for evil since it is directly opposite to His nature. Freewill doesn't really have much meaning unless there is the potential to choose in opposition to something, or someone. I guess the real question would be how was the character of God determined and what factors were involved.
Evil is, by definition, the absence of good. God is all-good. Evil originated with free will. God knew that love without free will is just slavery, so he allowed free will. Satan is a fallen angel, who chose to refuse to live in God's light.

What is the punishment for freely deciding not to reciprocate this "love"?

If God punishes someone, it is not because they did not love Him. It is because they have committed iniquity.

All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of the triune God, therefore all stand condemned. And all will be judged and punished according to their deeds and what they have done with their body and in their body. God's standard is perfection. None are perfect, so all need Christ's work on the cross applied to their sin debt in order to cancel it. God is His providence reveals Himself and manifests Himself to some and to others He hides Himself. It is all up to God's sovereign prerogative.

All men know what God requires of them for He has made it known to them in that He has given everyone a conscience. Those who obey the voice of conscience and seek and pursue righteousness, God reveals Himself in ever increasing measure. Those who harden their heart to the voice of conscience, what little light they have, will be taken from them and God leaves them to their own devices and shame.

Their foolish hearts become darkened along with their minds. Such men have rejected what light they have been given and thus, they choose eternal separation from the source of the light. If God is merciful and gracious to them, He draws them. If He chooses not to, He has committed no evil or wrong in allowing them that hate the light to abide eternally in the darkness.

Cool story bro.
Replying with "cool story bro" to what I wrote is a perfect example of how people whose hearts and minds have been darkened respond to such matters.

For such a one as you, heaven would be hell indeed.

Do you often feel this way when others disagree with you?

Depends on whether or not the people disagreeing with me respond to what I just told you by saying "cool story bro".

You're here to play around and ask twenty questions. You're probably a teenager or in your early twenties and you think everything is a game. You respond to people's thoughtful posts by replying with one or two sentences at best, at worst, you offer nothing more than little one liners and cynical, sarcastic quips.

Standard fare for rebellious teenagers/young adults who have read a couple of pop-science books and think they know all there is to know about everything they venture to talk about.
