I know that St. Nicholas is real.
No doubt about it.
So what are you really doing here?
Unbelief and unconvinced have different meanings....
You first presented the definition of "unbelief" given in the KJV Dictionary. You then switched to a different source, in which the definitions given match only one of the definitions given by your first (religious) source.I am not willing to let you change horses in the middle of the stream; that is why I am insisting you choose one definition or the other and stick to it. If not, sayonara.
So you're like the seed that was planted in rocky soil, it grew but could not sustain itself. There's a lot of you out there. Your faith was never tested, and when it was, it broke quickly. Got it.That's good, seeing as faith isn't a virtue.
I have been here since 2007, when I joined as a Christian.
It grew beyond faith. So you're like the seed that was planted in rocky soil, it grew but could not sustain itself.
I wouldn't describe several years as "quickly."There's a lot of you out there. Your faith was never tested, and when it was, it broke quickly. Got it.
How is it dodging the obvious? The relationship of Muslims to God is slave/Master. The relationship of Christians to God is children/Father.Good job dodging the obvious.
It's called 'discernment'. I try not to question God's plan, for it is perfect. I do question it, all too often, but eventually, I let God be God.How can you know that your interpretation of such manifestation is correct, if you can't verify it?
Who do you think Santa Claus was modeled after? That wasn't the question, but I understand how you have a need to avoid the obvious.
How is it wrong? Catholics can choose what they want to believe, Muslims, too; Protestants, too. Even you. But God has shown us the right way. So even if you choose wrong, that doesn't mean the Truth isn't still out there.Again, not the question
Showing that the claim that one can "choose" what to believe, to be utterly wrong in every possible way.
I don't think that's for you to determine...It grew beyond faith.
You wouldn't, but it's not yours to determine. I would say you chose to ignore the Truth. Not that I'm judging or anything, that's God's job.I wouldn't describe several years as "quickly."
I don't know about you, but I can't just choose to sincerely believe that there is a unicorn in front of me right now.How is it wrong? Catholics can choose what they want to believe, Muslims, too; Protestants, too. Even you. But God has shown us the right way. It does sound like you're judging, but I'd be curious to see how you justify that judgment...I don't think that's for you to determine...You wouldn't, but it's not yours to determine. I would say you chose to ignore the Truth. Not that I'm judging or anything, that's God's job.
You can choose that, if you think that's what you see...it is your choice.I don't know about you, but I can't just choose to sincerely believe that there is a unicorn in front of me right now.
Actually, no, I can't. Can you? Can you choose to believe that there is a unicorn in front of you right now?You can choose that, if you think that's what you see...it is your choice.
I don't really care, and do not know you to judge you. You might be 'simply ignorant' of the truth. (I grew up Evangelical, but my parents' faith wasn't very strong-they dutifully went to church but it wasn't strong, so mine wasn't strong either, until later in life. I was simply ignorant, too.) But you say you studied and studied and even contemplated a religious life. I know that, in seminaries, they teach philosophy before they teach religion to priests, and it's been said that they do that to test the faith of the seminarians. Some, though they want to be priests, do not have strong faith, and get out pretty quickly, and many of those fall away from being Catholic or even Christian. It does sound like you're judging, but I'd be curious to see how you justify that judgment...
If there is one, I can. If there's not one, I can't. But who am I to say what you're seeing? You can choose to see whatever you want, or not see, too. I think you chose not to see Christianity, for whatever reason.Actually, no, I can't. Can you? Can you choose to believe that there is a unicorn in front of you right now?
What do you mean, "if there is one"? Can you choose to do so, right now, or can't you?If there is one, I can. If there's not one, I can't. But who am I to say what you're seeing? You can choose to see whatever you want, or not see, too. I think you chose not to see Christianity, for whatever reason.
There! Now I can. Now the question becomes, "Are unicorns real?" There's a Truthful answer for that. No, unicorns aren't real. What do you mean, "if there is one"? Can you choose to do so, right now, or can't you?
How do you define nonbelief? As in no knowledge of or knowledge of but reject God? If the latter you know the truth and are held accountable for your choice.

I don't know your situation, so I cannot judge, and would not condemn your choice. That's between you and God.
