I'm not sure, but I believe that the Church is technically opposed to it. But they don't shoot it down either, so who knows? Anyway, the only way that I could object to it would be with the organ harvesting. A person in a hospital can be "brain-dead," or something similar, and they sometimes harvest organs from these people. Now the only objection that I would have would be that it is possible that the soul of that individual could still be within them, and to deprive them of a vital organ would "kill" them, seperating the soul from the body. But some people will see that as too nit-picky, and a fruitless argument, since there is no possibility for the recovery of brain function and "true" life. Though the bottom line, IMHO, is that it's a personal decision. I believe that God judges people for what is in their hearts, and I think that most people that donate do it out of selflessness, although there's a possibility that some could be registered for it as a means of glorifying self, in much the same way as some exploit community service hours to make themselves look good on paper. Anywho, if you seriously want to do it, do it. It is your decision.
