Personally I feel very uncomfortable about political parties based upon Religious groups.

I'd never vote for a Christian party because should they be victorious at the polls I am basically saying that non-Christians (such as Muslims, athiests and Hindus) should submit to Christianity. Submission to the Lord is a personal choice. If God gives us freedom to choose then we should give others this freedom.

Of course Christians should be involved in politics and have God as a guide and inspiration; but once we start imposing the Bible on people through the government and law, we are then on the slippery slope to a Religious state. Theocracy (as it is known) is wrong for two reasons. One; political leaders replace God as judge and Two; it causes an incredible amount of resentment against Christianity from non-Christians.

Probably the most common complaint that non-beleivers have about Christians is that 'Christians' try to force their beleifs onto others. Most people are quite willing to let us hold our veiws and might even be interested to hear what we have to say. But once we try to FORCE our veiws onto others 'it can put people off for life' because Christians are suddenly veiwed as judgemental bigots. Very few will be saved if they feel that the faith is forced onto them. People are more likely to be willing to listen to someone approaches the issue in a less aggressive way.

I am a staunch opponent of Theocracy because of my Christian beleifs, not despite of them.

Hello all

I hadn't heard too much about OCV until a friend mentioned them this week. He was complaining about the fact that postal workers have refused to deliver the party election leaflets, primarily, I believe because they consider the views of OCV to be on the extremist/controversial side of things.

I don't know enough about it to make any judgement for myself, but I thought I might just mention this. I'm not usually keen to watch party political broadcasts but since there seems to be so little info about OCV out there, I did make a point of looking at the broadcast on their website.

If anyone wants to have a look, you'll find it at:

Hope this helps :)

ok guys,
I'm sorry but I won't be voting for them. The message they give is a very poor one for christians they do not show the forgiveness that Jesus can and has provided. I see that they want to share their message but why focus on abortion? why not rape, theft, drugs? etc etc.
I'm sorry I can't agree with this simply because of the hurt that they may be inflicting upon those who have already had abortions whether they are christians or not! (they may not have known at the time what the bible says about abortion!)
C@ xx
p:s: I hope I haven't offended anyone this isn't meant to be an attack on anyone its just my personal opinion!
