Zippy, I moved the Restaurant thread into this subforum. Do you mind if I merge this thread into it?
Not at all. Dawn it is always a pleasure to discuss and discourse with you. Please let us continue our fellowship. Just let me know where I should pick up

Only 30 days for field training? Drats, I had to suffer for 50 days in basic (although, not much suffering happened, as it was, as you say, a mind game. The heat was the only problem).

Where did you go for field training? Lackland?
No, we have FT at Maxwell on the OTS complex. However, some ROTC cadets also go to Elsworth but they are going to move them to Maxwell in a year or two as well. And did you happen to know of a MTI named Sgt. Phebus?

Ahh. I can still imagine the heat, though.

No, can't say I recall the name. I only dealt with 3 MTIs directly (my flight's TI, my brother flight's TI, and a sub TI), and only about 4 others can I recall their names.

Very good series.. at least all the episodes I saw awere good.
Too bad the Ranger spinoff didn't get too far. That was good as well.

I liked the fact that the whole series was planned out before they even started filming. And each major character had a "back door", should the actors be unable to continue with the series, for one reason or another.

My favorite character was Vir Cotto (Londo's aide de campe, of the Centauri Republic). He's just too funny!

Ya between Vir and Lenir it's hard to beat.
ALthough Ivanova was very good too.

Although my fave moment ever is the Apology from Cpt. Sheridan to the Centaris

And while we're at it I'll through the old battlestar galactica into the pot as well

You would remember him if you ever knew him. I dont know much about the ranking of MTI's but he has a blue ribbon on his cover which I was told means he is in the top 5% of TI's or something like that. He was.... intense. One of my favorite quotes from him while we were preparing for our final parade with General Lorenz,

Sgt. Phebus said:
I want yall to be the most motivated bunch of retards ever!

Another funny story from him, he was chewing out our sister flight which happened to have a prior enlisted in it. Phebus found out and asked him who his TI was. So he told him, turns out Phebus knew who the TI was and immediately pulled out his cell phone, called the TI, and gave it to the cadet.

Sounds like basic, all right. Yeah, the blue ribbon was the top of the MTI corps. I learned quickly not to mess with them. We called them "blue ropes", because of the blue cord around their hats. (Which caused some confusion when we went to Tech School, as the MTL [Military Training Leaders] had blue ropes around their left shoulders).

The one TI I remember was SSgt Schuschureba (spelling wrong, I know, but pronounced Shoe-shoe-reeba). She was EVIL! She'd chew you out and spit you back out as soon as look at you. I had the wonderful misfortune to cross her path twice-luckily, she was in a "good" mood.

My husband and I watched a show on the Marine Corps survival school last night on the Military Channel. I was SO impressed. Thank God for our servicemen and women!
Thanks for the support.

I've only been in the service for three years, and haven't been deployed yet, but I know that the support of friends, family, and strangers back home means a lot. Your expressions of support, love, and prayers means more than words alone can say. We are, for the most part, grateful to serve, but it makes our job just a little easier, and our burden a little easier to bear, when we know that there are people like you back home who support us, think about us, and pray for us.
