• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
 • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Thanks, I just hope he eventually takes to it. As of right now, he will only take to it for 30 seconds or so then he is screaming. I figure it will be better once my milk comes back in?
That's a good start. Check out www.kellymom.com. It's a wonderful breastfeeding site. Take a look at this page
http://www.kellymom.com/bf/supply/adoptivebf.html It lists herbs you can take to help with milk production. It also has info on supplimental nursing systems where your son could receive formula at the breast to keep him on the breast longer so he doesn't get frustrated so he can continue to stimulate milk production. Also try putting him at the breast when he's NOT hungry to comfort nurse instead of giving him a pacifier. He doesn't have to be getting milk in order to stimulate production right now.

I love Kellymom.com! That site has been a great help to me! I know it's tough but try not to give up when he starts screaming, try to calm him and go a little longer. You might be able to do this longer and longer each time, the more often you have him at the breast the quicker your milk will come back in.

Well we just got back from the GI specialist. She told me NOT so switch to BF'ing because it won't make a difference. She said that he doesn't appear to have any problems....other than stubbornness. The first week after he was home from the hospital, he had one dirty diaper that was BIG bloody, hard stools and it hurt him really badly. That was when our problems really kind of started. She said that he has now associated pooping with pain so when his face turns red and he holds his breath and screams, it is because he is trying NOT to poop, not trying TO poop. As soon as I put the suppository in, he has no choice but to go...so he does. She took him off the suppositories, off the Karo syrup....and on a stool softener. We go in for tests next week to make sure it isn't anything more serious but she said that even if it WAS something we were testing for, BF'ing wouldn't make a difference. She said that right now, he is basically going to have to re-learn how to poop so it would be way too hard on us to try and learn to BF, too. I will say one thing, though....I will be bf'ing my next baby!

The hardest part is that I have to let him just scream til he poops on his own...no helping him anymore...

I'm so glad that the GI Specialist doesn't think Justin has any problems! It's too bad that pooping hurts so much for him-and you, watching him go through it! :( I"ll pray that he gets over this little hump quickly!

Ahhh a post partum thread. I was wondering if anyone knew about your fertility post partum? Assuming you are not breastfeeding, does it go back to normal? Or is there an amount of time where you do not ovulate but still have periods? I tried to google post partum fertility and can't find anything at all.... I suspect I ovulated last week, but I am not sure.

It took me 13 weeks to start my period back again...then I bled for six! IDK about fertility, though...good questions!

I came across this. I bf and my fertility comes back at around 6 months. I wish it was longer!

Postpartum Infertility

Following delivery every woman experiences a period of infertility. In nonbreastfeeding women it may be less than 6 weeks (on average, the first ovulation occurs 45 days postpartum). For breastfeeding mothers, the period of infertility is longer because frequent suckling blocks ovulation. The return of fertility, however, is not predictable (conception can occur before the woman has any signs or symptoms of the first menses).

Tessa is having her 3 week growth spurt, I feel like a 24 hour milk bar. :sigh: I'm also really tired of bleeding and wish my incision would just heal, already. And my nursing bras are all stretched out and don't fit anymore, but how am I supposed to go to the store to get some more????
I need a nap.

:sorry: Can you tell, I'm a little stressed?

That's odd! What kind of birth control do you use?
They had me on Yaz and then Necon, but now I don't take any at all. The doctor said since Justin, my body doesn't agree with it

I know about the nursing bras, mine have survived three kids, but now with the 4th have notices that there are holes in them right at the nipple area. Guess I don't have to unhook and hook them back up :)

did you have a c-section?

i know what ya mean about the bleeding..with luke i bled 7 straight weeks..and it was pretty heavy the first few of those weeks. This time..with anna..the bleeding has been much lighter and easier since day 1..so i am hoping i wont bleed for as long this time!!
