Monday 6th Febuary - Indonesia

From July to December 2005 there were 14 violent attacks on Christians in Central Sulawesi, including a bomb on New Year's Eve which killed eight people. Please pray for peace in this region and for an improvement in Muslim-Christian relations.

Tuesday 7th February - India

Hindu extremiss have organised a 'reawakening' event on 11-13th February and they expect it to cause thousands of Christians to turn 'back to Hindu fold'. They have also published materials calling for the destruction of the Christian faith. Pray that this event would not take place and for Christians to stand strong in Christ.

Wednesday 8th February - Vietnam

Praise the Lord for training conducted among a special group of tribal people in the hinterland of Vietnam, the first of its kind to reach our brothers and sisters in this area. They were so happy to have this oppurtunity that they even held classes continuously without sleeping. Praise God for dedicated teachers who invested their life to these important people. Pray that God will open other programmes to them.

Thursday 9th February

Praise God for the 21 new believers who were baptised during the recent Sama Believers Gathering in Zamboanga City. Pray that thse believers will grow in their faith, standing firm whenever they are faced with pressures and harassment from their unbelieving relatives and friends. Pray that they will be a channel of blessings to their own people.

Friday 10th February - Laos

Please ask God to comfort Metta Voraphorn, whose husband Aroun, an itinerant evangelist, was murdered before Christmas. She has pleaded with Christians in Laos to continue preaching the gospel fearlessly as her husband has done. Pray that God would give them courage and strength to do this.

Sunday 19th February - Eritrea

Pray that God will protect the prisoners from mistreatment: some of our brothers and sisters are imprisoned in underground dungeons and in shipping containers. Pray that God will give the prisoners the strength to persevere.

Ethiopia

As soon as an Ethiopian accepts Christ, the family usually expels the new convert from their midst. Please pray for these young believers to stand firmin a realisation they are not alone. Pray that they may be free to fellowship with other believers.

Tuesday 21st February - Ethiopia

Eritean refugees in a camp in Ethiopia are worried about the growing tension on the border of the two countries. Pray for a permanent peace between these two countries and for the Christians of both lands to be growing in their faith and love for fellow believers.

Iraq
The insurency continues unabated. Pray for the many people of this country; the majority want to give their families a secure home. Pray for all the school and universities that are open in spite of the threats and turmoil, asking that Christian students (mainly girls) wil find a way of studying under very difficult circumstamces.

Thursday 23rd february - Iraq

Pray for the small churches made up of Muslim converts to Christ that are growing spiritually. Pray that God will guard them against the heart of materialism and that they will trust him to provide for all their needs.

Saturday 14th February - Arabian Peninsula

Praise and pray for Christian workers in the Arabian Peninsula. Please pray for their protection in this dangerous area and ask God to inspire them with creative way to reach the Saudis and other Arabians in the Gulf with the gospel.

Sunday 26th February - Region

Please pray for efforts to set up a network of safe houses. A small number are already functioning. Much wisdom is needed to choose the locations and the people to run them.

Monday 27th February - Turkmenistan

There are many needs including a deterioration in health care - more than half of the population suffers from Tuerculosis (TB). Another problem is drug addiction but praise God that the testimonay of several fromer drug addicts has attracted many people to the power of the Gospel. The church is growing in the country but Christians - and their relatives - often lose their jobs because of their new faith.

Tuesday 28th February - Homefront

Give thanks for Bible couriers who spend their holidays delivering Scriptures, Christian literature and training materials to countries including China. Pray that God would guide very step and that his hand of protection would be on the believers who receive the materials.

Day 1 - Region

Praise God for the literature and audio/video materials which we distribute in the whole region. We receive an average of 60 letters a month from the region, to thank us for these gifts and to ask us for more.

Day 3 - Azerbaijan

Please pray for Solomon (not his real name) and his family who moved to a town by the Caspian Sea and was summoned by the head of polics. The landlord and the estate agent were also summoned and warned not to help Solomon find accommodation. Solomon's child was expelled from school. Please pray for the whole family to trust the Lord in this.

Day 4 - Uzbekistan

Join Aziz in praying for those who have left the Church because of fear or pressure on them. Praise God that the Good Shepherd Himself is always on the look out for them.

Day 6 - Uzbekistan

Please pray for Pastor Ruzmet Voisov branded a 'Christian extremist' by a televevision documentary. His congregation is no longer allowed to meet together; please pray that the Lord would bless the small house groups with increasing faith, hope, love and unity in the Lord Jesus. Pray for the media to portray Christians in a truthful light.
