CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

!As for the weekend--it was fairly quiet. Watched 2 hockey games, a car race and kept putting drops in my son's eyes. Something on the backyard campout with Dad did not agree with him and we were trying to clear up allergy yucks all weekend. Also got some work done on a blanket. This one is earmarked for the Children's Advocacy Center, along with a few others and some teddy bears (2 of which I still need to finish putting together--they got no arms at the moment)

Celtie, what kind of blanket are you working on. I have limited sewing skills although I love to cross-stitch when I have time.
My weekend was beautiful. We had great weather in slower, lower Delaware. I spent some time in my yard, mowing and weeding. I taught the adult Sunday school class, we had Bible trivia day..it was fun, even stumped the minister on a few Old Testament questions.

I'm crocheting the blanket. It is a corner start pattern and I am only on the "growing" side of the thing. Looks kinda like a shawl at the moment. I can't really sew, (only sewing I do is putting crocheted pieces together) and while I can do the knit stitches I get lost in the pattern and mess it up so bad that I rip it out and crochet something. I can crochet just about anything I can read the pattern for (and some things I've made up myself). So I'm just a "happy hooker" .

My mom loves doing counted cross stitch projects. She's got sooo many of them...we could wallpaper our house with them if she got them all done.

the last weekend was a beautiful weekend. Then Monday came 
and of course it rained almost all day. 
Oh well with the rain comes the green grass (which has to be mowed right ) It is good to be back here at CF tonight though.

My weekend was busy, but it was nice to have the time away from work. Why is it that weekends just seem to fly by? It hardly seems like I have left work when I show up again on Monday mornings!
But I did manage to bake some chocolate chip cookies to contribute to the thread!
