What did the Israelites disobey?
Isaiah 66:3 But whoever sacrifices a bull
is like one who kills a person,
and whoever offers a lamb
is like one who breaks a dog’s neck;
whoever makes a grain offering
is like one who presents pig’s blood,
and whoever burns memorial incense
is like one who worships an idol.
They have chosen their own ways,
and they delight in their abominations;

You should re-read my post again. There are two rests being mentioned here. Hebrews 4 makes it very clear you do not receive the gospel rest by disobeying the Sabbath commandment, which still remains for the people of God.
No, the sabbath rest that remains is the substance not the shadow.

The disobedience Hebrews 4 is a direct reference to this

Ezekiel 20: 13 13 Yet the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes; they despised My judgments, ‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them’; and they greatly defiled My Sabbaths

There is no scripture telling us the 4th commandment has been deleted. God told us to "Remember" others teach us to "forget" I am going to believe God.

Yes, the commandment is the substance. The shadow is referring to an ordinance, not one of God's eternal commandments. There is no mention of food or drink in the Sabbath commandment. You need to read things in context, plus Jesus tells us to keep the least of the commandments Matthew 5:19 and has some warnings for those who teach we do not have to keep them.

Amen and well said! Our ‘sabbatismos’ rest is our eternal rest we have in Christ in contrast with keeping the weekly sabbath day under the law.

The Lord is the substance.
Colossians 2:16 - Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day— 17 things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.

Actually from reading it i see that the substance mentioned is probably the rest itself.
Again, there are two rests mentions in Hebrews 4. The weekly Sabbath rest that is the commandment and the gospel rest we receive when we are obedient to the Sabbath commandment.

I don't read the scripture the same way you do. Jesus said learn from Him and we will find rest for our souls. Jesus doesn't command Sabbath he gives it.

The Holy Spirit draws us to Christ.

The Spirit awakens sinful and dead hearts (Eph. 2:1; Ezek. 36:26, 27) and opens our blind eyes (Acts 26:18; 2 Cor. 4:4). He does this by awakening in us an awareness of our sin (John 16:8) and convicting us of our lostness and need for a Savior.

Sin is transgression of the law.

If not for the law .... we would not know what sin is.

I don't read the scripture the same way you do. Jesus said learn from Him and we will find rest for our souls. Jesus doesn't command Sabbath he gives it.

I understand, a lot of people get this confused and unfortunately most churches no longer teach the Ten Commandments.

The Sabbath is a commandment- God personally wrote this and personally spoke it with His own voice. God stored all of the Ten Commandments in the Most Holy of God's Temple. The first 4 commandments are how we show love to God and the last 6 are how we show love to our neighbor.

Here is the Sabbath commandment:

Exodus 20:8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

Hebrews 4 speaks of the rest in Christ (gospel rest) when we obey the Sabbath commandment.

Hebrews 4:4 For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; This is a direct reference to God's seventh day Sabbath Genesis 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

5 and again in this place: “They shall not enter My rest.” 6 Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience,

WHY did the Israelites not enter into the gospel rest of Christ?

Ezekiel 20:13 Yet the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes; they despised My judgments, ‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them’; and they greatly defiled My Sabbaths.

This passage plainly tells us you do not receive the blessings of Christ rest by disobeying the Sabbath commandment. We enter into the gospel rest by obeying the Sabbath commandment, which is meant to be a blessing and a delight. Isaiah 58:13

7 again He designates a certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been said:

“Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts.”

If you hear the truth today you should not harden your heart! Don't put it off for another day.

8 For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of another day. 9 There remains therefore a rest [a Sabbath keeping] for the people of God.

Rest here means Sabbath keeping.

A Greek-English Lexicon of the New Testament; Arndt and Gingrich
sabbatismoV
, pronounced sabbatismos, form: noun
1)
Sabbath rest, Sabbath observance

Strong’s Lexicon #4520 σαββατισμός
1) a keeping [continuing] sabbath
*2) the blessed rest from toils and troubles looked for in the age to come by the true worshippers of God and true Christians

I hope this helps.

Hebrews 8:7 For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another. 8 But God found fault with the people and said:

“The days are coming, declares the Lord,
when I will make a new covenant
with the people of Israel
and with the people of Judah.
9 It will not be like the covenant
I made with their ancestors
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they did not remain faithful to my covenant,
and I turned away from them,
declares the Lord.
10 This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel
after that time, declares the Lord.
I will put my laws in their minds
and write them on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
11 No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest.
12 For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.”

13 By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear.

The new covenant ...

I will put my laws in their minds
and write them on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.

What laws are written on the heart and in the mind?

the context of the passage quoted is the passages before are referring to the priestly aspect of the earthly sanctuary system (that system would and did become obsolete).

and again referenced in Hebrews 9

Hebrews 9

Redemption through His Blood

11But when Christ came as high priest of the good things that have come, He went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not made by hands and is not a part of this creation. 12He did not enter by the blood of goats and calves, but He entered the Most Holy Place once for all by His own blood, thus securing eternal redemption.13For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that their bodies are clean, 14how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself unblemished to God, purify our consciences from works of death, so that we may serve the living God!15Therefore Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, now that He has died to redeem them from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.

Gods eternal Sabbath rest I assume will be written there. When we rest, we rest from our works. Do we only do that on Sabbath or every day?

People do what they choose to do ....

What does the scripture say ???

Like God rested from His work ... a day created by Him and made Holy (set apart for a specific purpose)

Gen 2:1-3: Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. ... So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.

According to scripture ... Did God bless and make holy all days?

What is the Hebrew definition of holy?
"); display: inline-block; height: 24px; width: 24px; margin-top: -1px; transform: rotateZ(-180deg);">

In this way, the Hebrew word “Qodesh” is most commonly translated “holy.” This word comes from the root word “Qadash,” which means “to set apart for a specific purpose”

specific day ..... specific purpose ..... spiritual and physical rest.

Leviticus 23:3

‘For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a sabbath of complete rest, a holy convocation. You shall not do any work; it is a sabbath to the Lord in all your dwellings.

Physical rest and spiritual rest not the same...

E.g: you rest every 7th day from work (physical) doesn't mean you rest spiritual (from bondage to sin)..unless you're in Christ then you receive rest for your soul..

Right there is human theological construction...

Two rests eh ???
