The Danes apparently have grown weary of Sen. Bernie Sanders insulting their country.

Seems even the Danes have been disagreeing with you for years now.

So a single center-right politician = the entire citizenry of Denmark?

And you probably need to have this talk with FoxBabeBusiness' Trish Regan.
Fox Business Took a Shot at Denmark. Denmark Fired Back.

“Denmark, like Venezuela, has stripped people of their opportunities,” the host, Trish Regan, argued on Sunday.

“Nobody is incentivized to do anything because they’re not going to be rewarded,” she said, making references to a 2013 New York Times article about moves to pare back the Danish welfare state.

Interesting... what are you trying to say here? That it is socialism and it isn't working?

I have no concern about Jr. He is the CEO of a multi billion dollar corporations. His ability isnt the issue. The threat is is what is at issue.

And what's the issue?

No. And I have no idea how you arrived at this conclusion from what I posted.

Ok... so let see how I came to that conclusion:

I take this to mean that just because a politician says it isn't socialism, does not mean it isn't.

But their success is attributed to capitalism done differently.

And you probably need to have this talk with FoxBabeBusiness' Trish Regan.

Why? Just search the topic. Easy peasy...

Well from what I see they get miffed at being equated to a socialist country. Because they have a capitalist economy that is highly regulated, and taxed, in order to afford social benefits.

I guess I don't get where you're coming from.

The Danes apparently have grown weary of Sen. Bernie Sanders insulting their country. Denmark is not a socialist nation, says its prime minister. It has a "market economy."

While speaking at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, the center-right Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen said he was aware "that some people in the U.S. associate the Nordic model with some sort of socialism."

"Therefore," he said, "I would like to make one thing clear. Denmark is far from a socialist planned economy. Denmark is a market economy."
Investors Business Daily

Seems even the Danes have been disagreeing with you for years now.

This is just semantic quibbling over the term "socialist". From your own article:

In Rasmussen’s view, “the Nordic model is an expanded welfare state which provides a high level of security to its citizens, but it is also a successful market economy with much freedom to pursue your dreams and live your life as you wish.”

Since you seem to agree with Rasmussen that "expanded welfare state" doesn't = socialism, perhaps we can all get on board with it being a good thing. If you can do that, you can call it whatever you like.

In a socialist society the government owns all goods and/or services, and their production. The Nordic model is based on capitalism where private ownership and competition is allowed, but high duties and or taxes are levied to pay for social benefits. Basically if you do really well for yourself you can have, buy, sell private goods. But if you are poor the government provides for you by levying ridiculously high taxes to give you what you need at the expense of taxpayers.

This is still a form of capitalism. However I do not believe it will be sustainable over generations.

Absoltuely no-one, and I do mean no-one, including AOC, is advocating that for any of the Scandinavian countries or the USA.

That's so far from true I don't know where to begin. Have you ever been to a Scandinavian country?

This is still a form of capitalism. However I do not believe it will be sustainable over generations.

It already has been. And by "it" I mean what actually happens in Denmark, not the incorrect version you think happens there.

That is the definition of socialism tho.

This is false. That is the communist economic model, or the model in some forms of socialism. European style market socialism has some aspects of the economy controlled by the government, but otherwise it's a capitalist system.

Again, I have no idea what this non sequitur nonsense has to do with what I wrote.

YOU posted a link to where the Danish prime minister said Denmark wasn't a socialist country.
That was somehow supposed to prove that "the Danes" were tired of Sen. Sanders "insulting" their country.
I posted a link showing that FoxBabeBusiness Trish Regan said Denmark was a socialist country.
My point was that if Sen. Sanders was wrong for calling them socialist, Trish Regan was wrong as well.

Yup. It works just fine until you run out of someone else's money to spend.

Also, mind you (in Marxist theory) socialism is a transitional social state between the overthrow of capitalism and the realization of communism. It's a pipe dream that leads to a nightmare.

Hasn't Trump Sr. been making threats? , Since he said he planned to become president. I'm not seeing a difference here.

That is the definition of socialism tho.

Lets just agree to disagree and move on, but you are going to have to give me a word I can use to describe the Nordic system that doesn't trigger this ambiguity.

Well try. It is your contention that I am wrong.

Indeed, moreover, I provided just as much evidence to show that you are wrong as you did to justify your assertion, and shall continue to do so.

It's not socialism.

Then, as I said, give me a word I can use.

Triggered... love it. ^_^ I don't need a safe space. Im fine. Just say what you have to say and I will take it into consideration and try to discuss it respectfully. Just because I disagree or do not understand doesn't mean I am not actually trying to conversate.

{snip}Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez threatened to use the powers of her elected office to retaliate against Donald Trump Jr. on Friday after the president's son posted a meme trolling her on his personal Instagram account.

Since when are Trump supporters concerned about a politician supposedly making a political threat when they support Donald Trump? Oh yeah, that's right, only when a liberal supposedly does it.

I love that she's so much fodder for humor. She's such a giver! :D
I love that people finally found someone other than Hillary or Maxine Waters to make into a boogeywoman to take out their frustrations against the world.

Nope just deceptively incomplete. If you are going to quote someone to prove a point about them, then to be honest you must quote everything that they said about that point. In this case the media made it appear as if that was all she said. That's holding hands with lying.

Well stated...

It's a practice that I refer to as "Lying by selective omission"...Daily Wire in particular loves to use it. It was just last week there was a different thread from an article they did making the erroneous claim of "Democratic Senator says Democrats are too smart for voters"...entirely derived from an out of context snippet from the article. Much like the case here.

When they take snippets like that, they lose A) context, and B) the supporting statements that demonstrate certain things being facetious or tongue-in-cheek and not actually intended to be taken literally.
