We pray to God because of his holy body and precious blood, his blessed Passion and his most dear death and wounds.
As the body is clad in clothes, and the flesh in the skin, and the bones in the flesh, and the heart in the whole, so we are clothed, body and soul, in the goodness of God and enfolded in it.
Our lover desires that our soul should cling to Him with all its might, and that we should ever hold fast to His goodness. For this above all else pleases God and strengthens the soul.
He who made made for love, will by that same love restore him to his former blessedness - and yet more.

- St Julian of Norwich

I used to live in a flat close to a road junction which was nicknamed "God's roundabout" because there was a church on the corner. The church always used to display very prominent signs outside which could be seen by drivers as they passed by. They had all kinds of different quotations depending on the time and season.

"Tyred? Come in for a service!"
"Let us be your service provider!"
"Now open on Sundays!"
"Brush up on your Bible. It prevents truth decay"
"The meek shall inherit the earth. If that's alright with you?"
"Can't sleep? Don't count sheep! Talk to the Shepherd!"
"Down in the mouth? Come in for a faith lift!"

Perhaps more of a prayer than a quotation, taken from my Augustine Prayer Book:-

Remember Christian Soul

Remember, Christian soul
that thou has this day,
and every day of thy life:
God to glorify.
Jesus to imitate.
A soul to save.
A body to mortify.
Sins to repent of.
Virtues to acquire.
Hell to avoid.
Heaven to gain.
Eternity to prepare for.
Time to profit by.
Neighbours to edify.
The world to despise.
Devils to combat.
Passions to subdue.
Death, perhaps, to suffer.
Judgement to undergo.

Living as an overcomer....

Our pride - overcome by humility
Our greed - overcome by generosity
Our lust - overcome by chastity and respect for the other as a child of God
Our envy - overcome by contentment and by delight in other's wellbeing
Our gluttony - overcome by temperance
Our anger - overcome by patience
Our sloth - overcome by diligence

If you are still in the process of his written work. or have finished it, how would you paraphrase this warrior's zeal?
