  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes, and in Sunday School of all places. :(
It was just for a brief period - but 2 brothers thought it was amazingly entertaining to pull my knit hat off and make fun of my bald head.

My Dad handled it really well, never acted like I was being a baby for crying about it, but also didn't indulge my hurt feelings. And at home, he started a game of gently yanking my hat off and saying dumb things like, "I love your little bald head" in a silly voice and kissing my head loudly until I was laughing and trying to push him away.

He also spoke to the boys several times and with their parents and the Sunday School teacher, but I didn't know about that until we were older and they told me.

Have you ever bullied someone?

I never have. But, I've been bullied. ... And my question was inspired by my niece, (who's in 2nd grade) who came home in tears today, because a Junior High School girl (who my daughters tell me is popular because she bullies everyone) bullied her on the bus, today.

Have you ever tried to explain what you meant to someone, and they argued with you about it?

I don't know sweetie. I took down her name, and their bus number and I'm going to talk to my sister about it tomorrow. She'll probably call the school or talk to the bus driver about it. But, I didn't know if it was my place to do it myself. It would be one thing if she was living here like she was last year. But, now, with her mother living closer, it probably should be her who deals with them. ... Or, I may just drive them (Lauren and Hannah both go to the same school) the last couple of days. I haven't decided. (their last day is Friday)

Did you go for a walk today?

Mine are completely bare of nail polish right now. :( (I can't really see well enough to do them myself. (even with glasses) And pedicures are like $45.00 here! So, that's a treat I don't get to do as often as I would like.)

Do you wear shorts in the Summer months?

You ordered dried cranberries from here? You don't have cranberries in Norway? :)

No. I'm sure my husband would wake me up if I ever fell asleep on the couch down there. He's sweet that way. :)

Is there anything small your spouse or S.O. does for you that lets you know that he/she cares?

I do not really have a SO but my 'Mr. Blind date' and I had our third get together today and he brought me a couple little items I had mentioned I was needing :) It showed me he had actually paid attention to what all I had said and I liked that.

What sorts of things do you do for your SO to show that you care?
