I went last Wednesday - I guess it is just a very small market - only really squash and a few blueberries - and the local blueberry farms closed this week because the harvest is finished.

I'm hoping there will be more in a few weeks - but I think the real issue is that most of the exhibitors are there on Saturday and not on Wednesday (really the "tourist" day) and we can not go to market on Saturdays wish they had it on Sunday too, but that is not going to happen around here and I totally understand why

Only trace amounts of rain are expected in most areas... With less than 20 percent coverage expected. Showers are expected to weaken or dissipate by 600 PM edt as surface temperatures begin to slowly cool.

y'all come, ya' heya?? hurricaines can ruin your whole year (*Henaynei is a Florida native back to 8-10 generations, family from Key West - moved to NC this year )

NC gets hurricanes too, but not as bad as the gulf coast and the island in the gulf of mexico.

I've lived in FL and now in NC...both hurricane prone states.

I don't think NC has had a major hurricane hit since Hugo in 1989 I think. Im in the Piedmont though so it isn't as bad as the coast. I want to move to the mountains sometime myself. Went to WCU for a few years.

We don't get much in the way of hurricanes up in the mountains - just doesn't pay to life on the Atlantic or Gulf coast these days.....

People are still talking about that one! My little sister in law (from SC) is a Hugo hurricane baby in fact. I hear Floyd was bad, but I wasn't here then. And I think it was Isabel that did quite a bit of damage a couple years ago. Hyde on the mid coast county got very banged up.

I love North Carolina! Dont want to ever leave. Maybe from the city i am in, but not the state, just to pretty, a nice little getaway or retreat from life.

North Carolina is a great place to live. We don't have many natural disasters and we have beautiful mountains. I plan on living here a long time. Anyone here live in Lincolnton? Its kind of in the middle of Gastonia and Hickory.
