Non-D&D roleplaying games

I see innumerable threads regarding Dungeons&Dragons, with pro and con arguments tailored to that system, but never anything on any of the many other systems available. It is as if they are eclipsed by their older brother. So, who here has opinions on, or plays other roleplaying systems?

Other than D&D...
Gurps, Advanced Fighting Fantasy, I tried Shadowrun(way too complicated). I've wanted to but never tried any of the Vampire: Masquerade, Werewolf games, etc...

White Wolf rules, as long as you cut most of their gothic B.S. But their mechanics are second to none. Mage has the single best magic system I've ever seen (no more memorized spells bs).

I'm totally with Phoenix on this one. I like the White Wolf mechanics, hate the game concepts. I will say that the system needs a lot more tweaking than most. D&D, you can run straight out of the book. Vampire and Mage need a lot more tweaking.

That said, Mage's magic system has ups and downs... I like Ars Magica better, but I also like D&D a fair amount. They're doing different things.

I do loathe GURPS consistently.
