That doesn't make any sense, because you gave one answer in response to the question regarding the atheist (unbeliever) and then a different answer in response to the question regarding a Hindu (also an unbeliever according to you).

You said that you would ask the unbeliever in the op "why would it bother you to lie?" However, when I asked you if you would ask that question of a Hindu, you said "no." When I asked you why you would not ask a Hindu the same question, your answer is because the Hindu is an unbeliever? That is contradictory and does not make sense. Can you please explain....

Hindus are believers, they just believe in other gods. The Christian god is not the only god. What you should've said was non Christians

Edit: if you reference the link and see the 'other Gods' as manifestations of Brahman, the Hindu influences I have been involved with view Jesus as a manifestation of Brahman, he is 'of God' and you can come to know God through him but is not Brahman or 'the one'.

There IS only one God. Agreed. But there are many ways to Him. That's an aspect of being infinate and all. The Divine Light of the Father that you see in Jesus Christ, others also find in their spiritual paths. It's the same Source and Creater of All though.

Of course not I don't think christians are the only moral people. That's absurd. Do you feel bad about lying?

I asked why lying bothered the OP. Morals has nothing to do with being convicted. Conviction is not a natural human feeling when one feels it is justified. If her lying is justified then why is she concerned enough to have peers comment; unless she knew she was not justified by her actions.

You seem to be failing at reading comprehension. The OP was not asking to be justified for any action. The OP was asking what people would do in a similar situation. You are the one who is bringing up lying and being justified.

I brought up justification for a action? Lying I did not bring up, which is the ACTION. The "but" is the start of a justification clause. Your comprehension would be biased.

I consider it as being unethical..seeking converts under the guise of accepting money for charity.I'm a Christian,and would have given the person a tongue lashing while giving a bit of change.
I saw a post earlier about the SA's charity drives..around here,they used to have folks in uniform at the kettles..now they have people in street dress,not volunteers,but people from all walks of life,being paid to ring a bell.At NO time are they permitted to bring up the giver's spiritual well being,unless it is brought up by the givers themselves.
The only mention of God allowed is a "Thank you and God bless",though not required.
During the interview process,the applicant's religious standing is not even addressed.
