And BTW, you might at least try to get your terminology correct when posting to LoAmmi: the Torah is only the FIRST FIVE BOOKS of the Jewish scriptures (IOW, the earliest ones), while the Jewish scriptures as a whole are known as the Tanach (an acronym of which the "T" stands for "Torah"); the Tanach is thus equivalent to the Christian Old Testament.
LoAmmi said:The exact word is not used for HaShem. It is only used for master or an Earthly lord. You can believe me or not but it is a fact. You are taking a root and applying it to all words derived from that root.
The word is ladonee. That is not the same as what you posted above.

I'm a Baha'i, as I said and as the heading of my posts makes clear; and as such I follow the teachings of the Founder of the Baha'i Faith, Baha'u'llah.
You could as easily claim that a Muslim follows the teachings of Christ.
Again, an extremely incorrect statement.
Simple as that.

LoAmmi said:Oh, well if Wikipedia says it, it must be true! I'm not really sure what the dictionary posts are suppose to tell me exact what master means in English. We're not talking about what master means in English.
I gave you the word. ladonee.
The same word is used in Genesis 24:54 and Genesis 32:4. Good old King James decided that it would be master in the first and lord referring to Esau in those places and not "Lord" referring to HaShem. I find that to be very convenient. Why the lack of consistency in translation?
If you find where ladonee is used for G-d, I'll be glad to look at it.
Please don't call me a liar until you give evidence that I am lying. It is not kind.
It is not in the KJV. Find another. It isn't even in the Hebrew Dictionary. The ????? Was Hebrew writings, unfortunately it did not post.
adon, shaliyt; mum'cheh; mas'ter; aman are the words for master or Master.
I see no reference for ladonee.
As far as I know it is a Hebrew/Greek slang word that isn't even in the codecs.
LoAmmi said:adon. Doesn't that look very similar to ladonee? If you are going to be ignorant of Hebrew, please don't lecture me. I don't speak the language but I do understand how it works.
One of our words for G-d is "Adonai". Can you see the "adon" in there as well? But the word used in Psalm 110 is not "Adonai" but "ladonee" or "l'adonee" if you want to write it a bit different. That word is not used for HaShem in our scriptures.

LoAmmi said:I just did a quick look in Deut 10:17 and the word ???????? is not there.
Could you please point it out to me in that place?
It's not "Ladonee", its "adown" which refers to MASTER.
For me it's ONE of the ways. For you the ONLY way.Jesus is the ONLY WAY. You accept that way then?

ELECTION IS STILL IN THE ROOM, so dissect away.
That's why you never were a Christian to begin with. Christians believe in The Lord.
LoAmmi said:I would also like to remind you that you have called me a liar on this issue and that has since been proven to be wrong. I think you should consider what you have done in public here and how that might look to those looking at the actions of Christians and judging Christianity based upon those actions.
Perhaps one should not be so hasty to bring out the liar accusation. There is a wide, wide range between "liar" and "mistaken". You didn't say I was mistaken. You said I was a liar.
Zoness said:We already know you are a Calvinist, there really isn't much more to discuss...but it was important to make clear to posters on this forum that Calvinism is probably in the category of more "abusive" spiritual philosophies.
