• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hi, thanks accepting me to the forums. I just turned 30 and still seem to be having wet dreams. I k ow some of the dreams are not sexual in nature and I know some have been. I thought only younger people got wet dreams, guess not. It this normal, has anyone else had this before later in life? I saw my friend who is a urologist and he said it's not that normal after a certain age but since I'm celibate...,yes there are still a few of us that still are....it's normal for me and it should taper down after I do have sex one day. I don't do anything to stimulate arousal...nothing...it just happens frequently. Due to my religious beliefs I do not self pleasure myself contrary to my urologist orders. Just want to know if anyone out there past their 25ish still have these and what to do after. Long story short, my dad left me when I was 8, he was a minister..go figure, so I was never taught birds and bees. I tried to reach out to church leaders and was pretty much laughed at for not knowing much about sex and wet dreams so that's out of the question. Hence the name.

Do you get right up and shower and go about your day? There are times when I think I may have but don't remember so I just go about my day until someone told me I smelled dreamy and someone else had to tell me what it was. Tbh, some nights it feels nice other nights it's like..,you gotta be kidding, again?!

Your urologist is both right and wrong. It is often a situation for young men, but if it's normal for you, then it is. But it's not harmful in any way at all.

I never had a problem with that. Maybe try sleeping with pajamas. This is will make it harder to forget.
