Paul says in 2Cor 4 that Satan is the god of this world -- is it any wonder that he wants to ban basic facts about origins along with common sense??
in Christ,
Bob
The basic facts about where the earth came from are based on our knowledge and evidence of and for gravity, chemistry, and cosmology.
Literally reading a religous mythology and asserting it as true because it's easier to make believe that it is, is not common sense, but rather a complete lack thereof.
Some basic facts:
Gravity is a property of mass that causes it to be attractive to other mass.
The universe is expanding, which is detectable by the redshift of distant objects.
Amino acids can form in a recreated proto-earth environment.
The diversity of life is due to many years of genetic drift, random mutations, and selective pressures.
Other basic facts:
Snakes and donkeys don't talk.
You can't clone a woman from a man, let alone using a rib bone, and even if you could, allowing them to procreate would likely yield disastrous results due to the most extreme form of inbreeding imaginable.
Humanity has never been subject to a world-wide flood.
Resurrection does not happen.
