University of Wisconsin Madison campus building probably (not necessarily sanctioned, but permitted, by the UW), one of the most liberal cities and universities in the country.
Doesn't surprise me one bit.

A year ago I promised Herman Hednig I would never use my pet term for "higher academia" again, if he would just read Galatians 3:26.

He said he read it, and I plan to stick to my promise.

General morality is indeed secular as most of the world is secular. When I refer to religious morality I mean true spiritual morality. Most Christians don't yet possess true spiritual morality (it's a work in progress), thus the two are quite similar. He has branded Christian morality according to the moral level of most Christians. This is a strawman as the discussion is about morality, not people. People screw everything up, including morality.

What he is doing is like condemning fishing because no one is catching anything.
Wrong, there was no strawman since there is no reason to believe in a "true spiritual morality". To make that particular claim of strawman you need to proved evidence for your claim of a higher Christian morality. And I am very sure that you can't do so.

Bob Larson vs Winnipeg

Too bad that you could not find an unbiased source. It did not even mention the fact that Bob Larson was up there spreading a message of hate and intolerance. I am not in favor of crowds when they do this, and this is particularly a problem of the left lately. They inadvertently give fuel to the hate speech that they are opposing.

Here is another viewpoint on that same event, obviously a bit biased the other way:

http://journals.msvu.ca/index.php/atlantis/article/viewFile/4139/3383

I could not find an unbiased source either, but then I did not try very hard.

Matt Dillahunty is not "higher academia". But he is a very well known atheist. He has been the main host of the Atheist Experience for the last ten years or so. When he was young and growing up in his Southern Baptist Church the members there expected him to become a major preacher some day.

But the approached Christianity honestly and openly in trying to defend it and found that he could not. You should check out some of his many responses to people calling into the online show on YouTube.

Even though the author said this:
Again, I state that I have no religious position and went to the meeting
to hear Bob Larsen speak and to hear him, as usual answer question from
any and all takers.

Even though the author said this:

Biased people make such claims. The "truth" is going to be somewhere between the two sources. I know that the one that I found was biased. It is amazing that you can't admit the same for a site that screams bias.

But the arena was.

Typical of higher academia to filter in Matts and filter out Bobs, isn't it?

He came on like the devil himself as was greeted with peals of joyful applause by his adoring demon possessed sycophants.

A straw man is a fallacious, easily defeated argument, constructed by one's opponent. His portrayal of Christian morality fits that description like a pair of sweaty leotards.

Of course. One wants to filter out people preaching hate. Now I do not like the method used, but you have to agree that eliminating hatred is a good thing.

Why can't your side find someone that does not espouse hate?

I don't know the guy, but this says it all.

How so? You appear to be very ignorant about one of the most popular long running shows on the internet. The man is very bright. You should try to call in some time.

The Southern Baptist Church should know better than that.

What? Putting their faith in an intelligent person? You might have a good point.

They should know that you don't put a man in the pulpit, unless he is called of God.

He was "called of God". Unfortunately he started looking for the truth.

Would you want a heart operation on you, done by a doctor who'd rather be playing in a chess tournament?

Bad question. Wouldn't you want a heart operation by a doctor that really understood the heart?

But the Southern Baptists accepted that turncoat Jerry Falwell, when he jumped ship and went from Independent Fundamental Baptist to Southern Baptist, and that says a lot about them; and I lost a lot of respect for that man when he did that.

What? Just because he went from one extreme cult to another?

A lot of respect.

And I'd say the same for the Southern Baptists, but I never really had any respect for them in the first place.

Yes, cult members always hate those that are most similar to their own cult the most. They feel an unreasonable sense of betrayal.

And enough on that.

Aww, it was just getting interesting.

Nope, if anything you appear to be creating your own strawman. You have yet to identify anything wrong with his portrayal of "Christian morality". Plus he is probably being more honest in his assessment of that trait then you are.

They've apparently taken a lesson from the black community, where a small minority of idiots can place a black mark on the whole community.

I agree, Bob is the sort of Christian that makes all Christians look bad.

JESUS came as the LIGHT of the world,

thus making all in the world exposed in the LIGHT, look bad. because it is bad.

There's some non-toxic(supposedly) stuff

called goo-gone that might help clean that stickiness up .....

:)
I also promised CabVet in 2013 that I would never mention a certain NASA disaster again if he would read Galatians 3:26, and he did.

But then he left some time after that, but I haven't mentioned it since.
