  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Genesis does not demonstrate awareness of all civilizations. It does not account for all of human migration. You'll have to add to it if you want to create a theory.

The bible is sketchy on lots of things.

Do you think any of the survivors of the ark time went to Egypt?
I don't believe there was an ark, much less ark survivors.
You should as Ham and his son are both linked up with the land of Egypt. Ham -was on the ark -- and Egypt was actually the name of one of his sons.
as in - Egypt is a name of one of the grandsons of Noah
When do you believe this took place?
The bible is sketchy on lots of things.
We can agree on that much.

I don't consider that to be a fault, though.

Now I really have heard everything

You don't count fossils of marine life in the mountains as evidence?

I can't imagine why that thought would not at least be accepted as reasonable, while you act as if it's preposterous.

Evidence that those mountains formed at some point, sure. It's not like they've been there forever.

Nope on both accounts. String theory is rational, magic never is.

String theory will bring science close to the magic of the creation.

" By faith we understand that the worlds have been framed by the word of God, so that what is seen hath not been made out of things which appear." Hebrews 11:3

Very quick to throw out the obvious there. How does that override the obvious? What makes it more credible an explanation?

What was preposterous was the idea that a flat farther, like Morse, deserves to be taken seriously.

So individuals don't each have the genetic diversity that science says they do?
They do, but when you have the children of two parents you cannot have much more (there are some mutations in every generation) difference in genetic diversity. For all practical purposes you have only the variation of the two parents. Add in the three wives and you have only the diversity of five people. Since they were all from one small area there would be limited diversity among them. Even if the three wives came from far afield you would still have very very limited diversity. You need to learn the lesson of the cheetah.

Of course not. You need to learn some basic geology. In fact they are not the distribution predicted by a worldwide flood. They are evidence against a worldwide flood.

Once again you need to learn what is and what is not evidence. To have evidence you need a testable hypothesis to start with. That means you need to have a reasonable test to show whether your idea is right or wrong.

The world was divided up again after the flood.
You don't believe there was an ark? Have you ever seen
the bow that God placed in the sky to promise us that He will never again destroy the world by a flood/water?

Has it ever occurred to wonder why rainbows only appear when a.) it is raining and b.) the Sun nevertheless manages to peak through the clouds?
