  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What we know is that there are some very different and weird mammals and marsupials in Australia. Just as there are some unique animals to certain locations in the world. Such as elephants in Africa.

Either way if all the animals were on Noahs Ark. Or these strange creatures were there all along as a natural evolution. Places like Australia ended up with some strange and different creatures that other places did not have.

I don't think that is about Noahs Ark but rather the natural way in which those particular creatures ended up in those locations. Whether they came for a common source in Noahs Ark or a common ancestor.

If this was happening around 10,000 years ago then its close to the end of the last iceage. It may have been land bridges and I think many lands had ways of crossing. But also human movement and domestication of animals. Humans have introduced a lot of flora and fauna. Though it seems to survive and even thrive in some cases. It tends to disrupt the natural order and ends up causing more problems in the long run.

I have read something about the early culture around Lake Van and how this can be traced across the globe to the establishment of the worlds civilisations. From memory the sons of Noah. A bit like the biblical tribes. So I think there is some evidence and heritage. At least as far as the bible is concerned and how God interjected Himself into humankind.

Koalas simply outran the cheetahs, and got to Australia first.
No they are too stoned on eucalyptus leaves lol. Its the Roos, the Red Kangaroo who can outrun Cheetahs. Or is at least the fastest land animal.

Elephants aren't unique to Africa. There's also the Asian elephant.

Elephants also had a huge range historically. The Asian elephant has a historical range that ran from the southern fringes of the Middle East all the way through the Indian subcontinent and across to Eastern China and Southeast Asia.

The ancestor species of African elephants were spread even more broadly. Remains have been discovered across the entirety of the Eurasian land mass and parts of North America.

Yes some animals are found in more than one place. But usually only in a few specific places due to a similar environment. I think there is another species of Kangaroo besides in Australia as well.

But the point is however they ended up in their locations it was either more suitable or they adapted to survive in those locations. Or maybe some of the species have evolved in those locations that were not there before.

If they all originated from one location then an elephant for example is only going to migrate to environments where it will survive. Its not going to be the desert or mainland US. Though this may have been the case around the last iceage when mammoths roamed the northern hemisphere.

But even back then when the mega creatures ruled there were giant kangaroos and wombats roaming Australia.

I am not sure where the kangaroo for example came from before it landed in Australia. But it would have still needed the same sort of environment as it does in Australia. It would not have survived the cold winters of Britain and Europe. Maybe around north Africa somewhere.

But if the sea levels were much lower then there would have been many land bridges. The same for the Aboriginals. They would have had to have migrated down from around north Africa and the middle east somewhere. I think through Asia and Papua New Guinea as there was a land bridge.
