What we know is that there are some very different and weird mammals and marsupials in Australia. Just as there are some unique animals to certain locations in the world. Such as elephants in Africa.
Either way if all the animals were on Noahs Ark. Or these strange creatures were there all along as a natural evolution. Places like Australia ended up with some strange and different creatures that other places did not have.
I don't think that is about Noahs Ark but rather the natural way in which those particular creatures ended up in those locations. Whether they came for a common source in Noahs Ark or a common ancestor.
If this was happening around 10,000 years ago then its close to the end of the last iceage. It may have been land bridges and I think many lands had ways of crossing. But also human movement and domestication of animals. Humans have introduced a lot of flora and fauna. Though it seems to survive and even thrive in some cases. It tends to disrupt the natural order and ends up causing more problems in the long run.
I have read something about the early culture around Lake Van and how this can be traced across the globe to the establishment of the worlds civilisations. From memory the sons of Noah. A bit like the biblical tribes. So I think there is some evidence and heritage. At least as far as the bible is concerned and how God interjected Himself into humankind.
